From the beginning of the year number of population of the country increased by 29418 persons or 0,03 % and reached to 10185784 persons for the state of the 1st July 2022. 52,9 percent of the population is urban, 47,1 percent is rural residents. On January-July of current year 61234 newborns by country were registered by the region (city) Registration Departments of the Ministry of Justice and this indicator made 12,3%. per 1,000 population, 52,7% of newborns were boys, 47,3% were girls.

32589 deaths were registered in the country on the six months of 2022 and the rate of deaths per 1000 population decreased from 7,5 to 6,5 in comparison with the corresponding period of the last year.

On the first half of the current year 28785 marriages and 7531 divorces were registered by the region (city) Registration Departments of the Ministry of Justice and the number of marriages increased from 4,7% to 5,8% and the rate of divorces decreased from 1,6% to 1,5% per 1000 population compared to the corresponding period of the last year.

On the first half of current year the relevant authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Migration Service registered 1215 person arrivals to Azerbaijan for permanent residence and 442 person departures from the country and migration positive balance made up 773 person.
