According to to the State Border Service data, in January-July 2022 Azerbaijan received 832,0 thousand or 2,3 times more foreigners and stateless persons from 171 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 26,4 percent of the arrivals were from Russian Federation, 21,0 percent – Türkiye, 11,6 percent – Iran, 6,8 percent – Saudi Arabia, 4,8 percent – Georgia, 3,0 percent – Pakistan, 2,6 percent – India, 2,5 percent – United Arab Emirates, 2,0 percent – Ukraine, 1,9 percent – Kazakhstan, 1,5 percent – Kuwait, per 1,4 percent – Israel and Oman, per 1,2 percent - Great Britain and Uzbekistan, 10,7 percent – were citizens of other countries. 75,3 percent of the arrivals were men and 24,7 percent were women.

In comparison with the same period of last year, the number of arrivals from Saudi Arabia increased by 351,2 times, Kuwait – 166,6 times, Oman - 156,9 times, Pakistan – 31,9 times, India – 18,2 times, Bahrain – 8,6 times, United Arab Emirates – 7,3 times, Israel – 7,1 times, Kazakhstan – 5,8 times, USA – 4,4 times, Germany – 3,2 times, France – 2,8 times, Great Britain – 2,1 times, Türkiye – 1,9 times, Iran – 1,8 times, Ukraine – 1,7 times, Russia – 1,7 times, Georgia – 22,5 times.

Compared to January-July 2021, the number of arrivals from Gulf countries increased by 3,4 times and amounted to 202,9 thousand persons, from EU member countries increased by 2,5 times and amounted to 41,9 thousand persons, from the CIS countries it increased by 1,8 times and amounted to 278,7 thousand persons.

62,0 percent of foreigners and stateless persons who came to our country used air, 36,4 percent – railway and automobile, 1,6 percent – water transport.

The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad increased by 2,0 times compared with January-July 2021 and amounted to 829,4 thousand persons. The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased 4,3 times, Türkiye – 2,2 times, Georgia – 1,9 times, Russia – 23,2 times. 47,9 percent of the country citizens traveled to Türkiye, 16,6 percent - Russia, 12,2 percent - Iran, 8,3 percent – Georgia and 15,0 percent to other countries. 64,8 percent of the travelers were men and 35,2 percent were women.

In January-July 2022, 60,1 percent of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited foreign countries using air, 37,3 percent – railway and automobile, 2,6 percent – water transport.
