Mr. Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee met with the representatives of Statistics Korea

On 16 November Chairman of the State Statistical Committee has met with the representatives of Statistics Korea (KOSTAT).

The issues arising from the “Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of statistics between the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Statistics Korea” approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 11, 2020, as well as the work carried out in 2022 within the framework of the next project “Establishment of an Administrative Database Integrated Management System” was mentioned, the importance of the development and submitting into use the information system “Administrative Data Management System – ADIS” was emphasized, and the prospects for cooperation between the two sides in the future were discussed.

Mr. Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the Committee talked about reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in the field of official statistics in recent years and noted that cooperation with Statistics Korea, which has more experience in the application of modern information and communication technologies in the process of statistical data production, has created new opportunities for the State Statistical Committee. At the same time, Mr. Hyangwoo Jeong, Director General for Planning and Coordination of KOSTAT expressed his satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral cooperation between the State Statistical Committee and KOSTAT, established since 2018 and highlighted timely and high-quality implementation of the projects implemented in the past period, and expressed his opinion on new project proposals.

At the end of the meeting, the sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
