Retail trade turnover
In January-August 2025, products worth 40.4 billion manats, including 22.2 billion manats of food products, beverages and tobacco products, and 18.2 billion manats of non-food products were sold to consumers in the retail trade network. Compared to January-August 2024, retail trade turnover increased in real terms by 3.7 percent, including 1.3 percent for food products, beverages and tobacco products, and 6.7 percent for non-food products.
The commodity market during the reporting period was characterized by the following indicators:
In January-August 2025, consumers’ expenditures in the retail trade network consisted of 50.7 percent on food products, 4.3 percent on beverages and tobacco products, 12.9 percent on textile products, clothing and footwear, 6.1 percent on gasoline and diesel fuel, 4.8 percent on electrical appliances and furniture, 2.4 percent on pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, 1.3 percent on computers, telecommunication equipment and printing products, and 17.5 percent on other non-food products.
During the reporting period, the value of goods sold by entities of the non-state sector increased in real terms by 3.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 99.8 percent of the total retail trade turnover.
In January-August 2025, compared to January-August 2024, retail trade turnover increased in real terms by 8.0 percent for enterprises, 1.0 percent for private entrepreneurs, and 3.9 percent for markets and fairs.
During the reporting period, in the retail trade network, on average per country citizen, 493.6 manats of products were purchased monthly, including 271,4 manats of food products, beverages and tobacco products, and 222.2 manats of non-food products.
