According to the State Border Service data, in January-June 2022 Azerbaijan received 638,6 thousand or 2,3 times more foreigners and stateless persons from 166 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 25,0 percent of the arrivals were from Russian Federation, 23,8 percent – Türkiye, 13,0 percent – Iran, 5,2 percent – Georgia, 4,6 percent – Saudi Arabia, 2,8 percent –Pakistan, per 2,4 percent – United Arab Emirates and India, 2,3 percent – Ukraine, 1,8 – Kazakhstan, per 1,3 percent – Kuwait and Great Britain, 14,1 percent – were citizens of other countries. 78,3 percent of the arrivals were men and 21,7 percent were women. In comparison with the same period of last year, the number of arrivals from Oman increased by 751,9 times, Saudi Arabia – 252,7 times, Kuwait – 147,3 times, Bahrain – 57,4 times, Pakistan – 51,0 times, United Arab Emirates – 41,7 times, India – 32,1 times, Israel – 9,9 times, USA – 5,9 times, Kazakhstan – 5,5 times, Germany – 3,4 times, France – 2,8 times, Great Britain – 2,1 times, Türkiye – 2,0 times, Iran – 1,9 times, Ukraine – 1,9 times, Russia – 1,6 times, Georgia – 21,9 percent. Compared to January-June 2021, the number of arrivals from Gulf countries increased by 3,2 times and amounted to 147,3 thousand persons, from EU member countries increased by 2,7 times and amounted to 33,3 thousand persons, from the CIS countries it increased by 1,8 times and amounted to 205,8 thousand persons. 56,6 percent of foreigners and stateless persons who came to our country used air, 41,7 percent – railway and automobile, 1,7 percent – water transport.

The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad increased by 2,3 times compared with January-June 2021 and amounted to 680,8 thousand persons. The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased 5,2 times, Türkiye – 2,7 times, Georgia – 2,0 times, Russia – 29,1 percent. 47,6 percent of the country citizens traveled to Türkiye, 15,7 percent - Russia, 13,3 percent - Iran, 8,1 percent – Georgia and 15,3 percent to other countries. 65,9 percent of the travelers were men and 34,1 percent were women. In January-June 2022, 55,4 percent of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited foreign countries using air, 42,0 percent – railway and automobile, 2,6 percent – water transport.
