On 28-30 September 2022, representatives of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan participate in the High Level Seminar for the National Statistical Institutes of the European Neighbourhood Policy East and Central Asia Countries organized in cooperation with the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Tbilisi.

The aim of the event is to hold discussions on the recent development in the national statistical systems of the European Neighbourhood Policy East and Central Asia Countries, assessment of statistical systems, cooperation in the field of statistics, the role of the national statistical institutes in initiatives related to intergovernmental data, new data sources in official statistics, administrative data and other relevant issues.

During High Level Seminar the representatives of participating countries and international organizations presented their reports on several topics.

At the event, Mr. Vahab Mammadov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan delivered a speech on “Achievements in the field of official statistics in the Republic of Azerbaijan” and informed that the Committee constantly focuses on the development of official statistical data in line with modern requirements, the development of the statistical system, the work done for further improvement, provided the detailed information on other measures taken in the field of achieving sustainable development goals at the national level and strengthening statistical capacity.
