Activities of hotels and similar establishments in January-June 2024

The number of nights spent in hotels and similar establishments in January-June 2024 increased by 35,8% compared with corresponding period of 2023 and amounted to 1851,7 thousand. 66,5% of the total nights spent were registered in Baku, 5,3% in Gusar, 4,4% in Naftalan, 3,9% in Guba, 3,6% in Gabala, 3,3% in Shabran, 2,0% in Lankaran, 1,2% in Khachmaz, 1,0% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and 8,8% in other districts and cities.

The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons increased by 37,1 percent compared to January-June 2023 and reached 1080,9 thousand, representing 58,4% of total nights. 21,1% of the total nights were spent by citizens of India, 14,6% - the Russian Federation, 7,8% - Türkiye, 6,6% - Saudi Arabia, 5,7% - the United Arab Emirates, 3,3% - the USA, 2,8% - Kuwait, 2,7% - Kazakhstan, 2,4% - Great Britain, 2,2% - China, 2,1% - Israel, 2,1% - Uzbekistan, 2,1% - Pakistan, 1,3% - Germany, 1,1% - Italy, 22,1% - citizens of other countries.

82,5% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 5,0% in Gusar, 3,9% in Gabala, 3,6% in Naftalan, 2,9% in Guba, 0,5% in Shabran and 1,6% in other districts and cities.

The number of nights spent in hotels by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan compared to the corresponding period of 2023 increased by 34,0% and made 770,8 thousand, representing 41,6% of total nights.

In January-June 2024, hotels and similar establishments’ revenues increased by 26,9% compared to the corresponding period of 2023 and amounted to 265,7 million manats, 60,7% of which were from services for the provision of rooms, 27,1% catering services, 3,3% treatment and health services and 8,9% other services.

In January-June 2024, one-time use of rooms in hotels and similar establishments was 21,1% (16,6% in January-June 2023). This indicator was 49,1% in Shabran, 39,1% in Naftalan, 37,3% in Baku, 28,0% in Gusar, while in other cities and regions, it was below average.
