A meeting was held between Mr. Azer Mursagulov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee, and the delegation led by Ms. Roland Price, World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the development of the official statistical system, the improvement of the legal and institutional framework, the modernization of the national accounts system, and the enhancement of the quality of statistical data.

The parties exchanged views on the modernization of data collection, production and dissemination processes, the expansion of the use of administrative data sources, the development of information technology infrastructure, and the implementation of international statistical standards.

The World Bank expressed its readiness to provide support to the State Statistical Committee in this regard. The issues on improving data accessibility, the role of statistical data in decision-making processes, and the long-term development priorities of the statistical system were also discussed at the meeting.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of applying modern approaches in statistical processes and the significance of future cooperation in this regard.
