According to the State Border Service data, in January-February 2024 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 341,0 thousand or 46,7 percent more foreigners and stateless persons from 167 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 26,8% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 19,9% – Türkiye, 9,8% – Iran, 6,9% – India, 4,8% – Georgia, 3,4% – Saudi Arabia, per 2,7% - United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan and Pakistan, 2,1% – Kuwait, 1,8% - Uzbekistan, 1,5% – Turkmenistan, per 1,3% - Oman and Ukraine, 1,1% – Belarus, 11,2% – were citizens of other countries. 73,9% of the arrivals were men and 26,1% were women.

In comparison with the same period of the previous year, the number of arrivals from China increased by 4,1-fold, Saudi Arabia – 2,8-fold, India – 2,7-fold, Kyrgyzstan – 2,6-fold, Bahrain – 2,5-fold, Kazakhstan – 2,4-fold, Tajikistan – 2,4-fold, Philippines – 2,0-fold, Oman – 1,9-fold, Spain – 1,9-fold, Uzbekistan – 1,9-fold, South Korea – 1,9-fold, Jordan – 1,8-fold, Italy – 1,8-fold, Turkmenistan – 1,7-fold, Egypt – 1,7-fold, Yemen – 1,7-fold, Kuwait – 1,6-fold, Iran – 1,6-fold, Poland – 47,7%, Türkiye – 38,8%, France – 38,5%, Ukraine – 31,7%, Pakistan – 28,0%, United Arab Emirates – 27,6%, Germany – 27,0%, Georgia – 24,5%, USA – 24,3%, Moldova – 23,9%, Russian Federation – 21,5%, the Netherlands – 20,9%, Belarus – 14,0%, Great Britain – 13,9%, Qatar – 11,9%.

Compared to January-February 2023, the number of arrivals from Gulf countries increased by 1,7 times and amounted to 68,9 thousand persons, from EU member countries increased by 1,6 times and amounted to 11,1 thousand persons, from the CIS countries increased by 31,4 percent and amounted to 122,8 thousand persons.

67,6% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air transport, 31,0% - railway and car, and 1,4% - sea transport.

The total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad increased by 36,0% compared to January-February 2023 and amounted to 296,5 thousand persons. The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased by 38,5%, Georgia - 32,2%, Russian Federation – 30,6%, Türkiye – 30,1%. 37,9% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveled to Türkiye, 21,9% – Russian Federation, 9,7% – Georgia, 8,5% - Iran, 22,0% to other countries. 68,2% of the travelers were men and 31,8% were women.

In January-February 2024, 67,7% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who visited foreign countries used air transport, 30,0% railway and car, and 2,3% sea transport.
