From the beginning of the year number of population of the country increased by 6769 persons or 0,1% and reached to 10187539 persons for the state of the 1st March 2024. The number of population per square kilometer is 118 persons.

54,5% of the population is urban, 45,5% is rural residents, 49,8% is men, 50,2% is women.

On January-February of current year 17081 newborns by country were registered by the region (city) Registration Departments of the Ministry of Justice and this indicator made 11,7% per 1,000 population. 52,5% of newborns were boys, 47,5% were girls. 594 of newborns were twins and 36 were triplets.

10395 deaths were registered in the country during the first two months of current year and the rate of deaths per 1000 population decreased from 6,8 to 6,2 in comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year.

On January-February of the current year 6739 marriages and 3456 divorces were registered by the region (city) Registration Departments of the Ministry of Justice and the number of marriages decreased from 4,6 to 4,0 and the rate of divorces increased from 1,8 to 2,1 per 1000 population compared to the corresponding period of 2023.
