According to the State Border Service data, in January-March 2024 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 513,5 thousand or 39,2 percent more foreigners and stateless persons from 171 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 28,7% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 19,3% – Türkiye, 10,3% – Iran, 7,2% – India, 4,8% – Georgia, 3,2% – Kazakhstan, per 2,4% – Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, 2,1% United Arab Emirates, 1,8% - Uzbekistan, per 1,5% – Turkmenistan and Kuwait, 1,4% - Ukraine, 1,2% – Belarus, 12,2% – were citizens of other countries.

In comparison with the same period of the previous year, the number of arrivals from China increased by 3,7-fold, India – 2,4-fold, Kazakhstan – 2,4-fold, Bahrain – 2,1-fold, Saudi Arabia – 2,0-fold, Kyrgyzstan – 2,0-fold, Spain – 1,9-fold, Philippines – 1,9-fold, Italy – 1,8-fold, Oman – 1,7-fold, Tajikistan – 1,7-fold, South Korea – 1,6-fold, Iran – 1,6-fold, Turkmenistan – 1,6-fold, Jordan – 1,5-fold, Germany – 49,5%, Uzbekistan – 47,5%, Kuwait – 42,4%, Yemen – 38,6%, Poland – 37,7%, USA – 32,1%, Ukraine – 26,1%, France – 25,7%, Türkiye – 25,0%, Pakistan – 24,3%, Russian Federation – 23,8%, Egypt – 22,5%, Georgia – 19,3%, the Netherlands – 17,8%, Great Britain – 14,2%.

Compared to January-March 2023, the number of arrivals from EU member countries increased by 1,6 times and amounted to 18,6 thousand persons, from Gulf countries increased by 1,5 times and amounted to 91,4 thousand persons, from the CIS countries increased by 31,0% and amounted to 198,3 thousand persons.

67,6% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air transport, 30,9% - railway and car, and 1,5% - sea transport.

The total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad increased by 31,7% compared to January-March 2023 and amounted to 472,3 thousand persons. The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased by 40,6%, Georgia - 29,0%, Türkiye – 28,1%, Russian Federation - 20,1%. 38,3% of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveled to Türkiye, 20,8% – Russian Federation, 9,4% – Georgia, 8,6% - Iran, 22,9% to other countries. 67,2% of the travelers were men and 32,8% were women.

In January-March 2024, 67,4% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who visited foreign countries used air transport, 30,3% railway and car, and 2,3% sea transport.
