Activities of hotels and similar establishments in January-September 2024
The number of nights spent in hotels and similar establishments in January-September 2024 increased by 25,2% compared with corresponding period of 2023 and amounted to 3269,0 thousand. 60,4% of the total nights spent were registered in Baku, 5,6% in Khachmaz, 4,3% in Naftalan, 4,3% in Gusar, 4,3% in Guba, 4,0% in Gabala, 3,6% in Shabran, 2,4% in Lankaran, 1,2% in Gakh, 1,1% in Masalli, 1,0% Shamakhi,1,0% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and 6,8% in other districts and cities.
The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons increased by 27,0% compared to January-September 2023 and reached 1772,2 thousand, representing 54,2% of total nights. 19,9% of the total nights were spent by citizens of India, 13,8% - the Russian Federation, 8,7% - Saudi Arabia, 7,0% - Türkiye, 5,6% - the United Arab Emirates, 3,6% - the USA, 3,0% - Kuwait, 2,8% - Kazakhstan, 2,5% - Israel, 2,5% - Great Britain, 2,4% - Pakistan, 2,2% - Uzbekistan, 2,1% - China, 1,3% - Germany, 1,1% - Italy, 21,5% - citizens of other countries.
81,0% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 4,7% in Gabala, 4,3% in Gusar, 3,7% in Naftalan, 3,5% in Guba, 0,6% in Shabran and 2,2% in other districts and cities.
The number of nights spent in hotels by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan compared to the corresponding period of 2023 increased by 23,1% and made 1496,8 thousand, representing 45,8% of total nights.
In January-September 2024, hotels and similar establishments’ revenues increased by 26,7% compared to the corresponding period of 2023 and amounted to 468,5 million manats, 62,5% of which were from services for the provision of rooms, 26,7% catering services, 2,9% treatment and health services and 7,9% other services.
In January-September 2024, one-time use of rooms in hotels and similar establishments was 24,8% (20,8% in January-September 2023). This indicator was 63,2% in Shabran, 45,3% in Naftalan, 39,7% in Baku, 26,6% in Gusar, while in other cities and regions, it was below average.
