In January-September 2024, 1031 or 14,4% less traffic accidents occurred compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the number of victims of these events decreased by 13,7% and made 1434 persons. 520 of suffered persons died and 914 of them were injured. 41,0% of accidents happened in the daytime, 40,6% - at night time, 18,4% - during twilight, 29,1% of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.

86,5% of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents decreased by 16,1% and made 381 persons compared to the corresponding period of previous year, number of injured persons decreased by 13,3% and made 851 persons.

38,8% of all traffic accidents happened with participation of several transport means, 38,6% - transport means and pedestrians, 22,6% - one mode of transport. 75,8% of persons died and 71,6% of injured as a result of traffic accidents were men.

17 accidents occurred because of drunk driving and caused death or injury, where 8 persons died, 12 persons injured. 14 of such accidents have been committed by drivers of motor-cars.
