In 2025 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 180 countries of the world, goods were exported to 128 countries and imported from 173 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed, the foreign trade turnover of the country in 2025 made 48905,8 million USD. 24526,1 million USD or 50,1% of trade turnover made the export value, 24379,7 million USD (49,9%) – import value, and consequently positive trade balance amounted to 146,4 million USD. In comparison with 2024, foreign trade turnover increased in actual prices by 3,2% and decreased in real terms - 8,6%, import decreased in real terms by 8,5%, export by 8,7%.

In 2025 the export of non-oil-gas products made 3628,2 million USD and compared to 2024 it increased by 8,1% in actual prices and decreased by 18,1% in real terms.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 24,0% of foreign trade turnover of the country was with Italy, 11,6 – Türkiye, 10,0% – Russia, 9,9% – China, 3,6% - Switzerland, 3,1% – USA, 2,8% - Germany, 2,3% - United Kingdom, 1,8% each with Australia, Georgia and Greece, 1,7% - Bulgaria, 1,6% each with Czech Republic and Uzbekistan, 1,4% each with Romania, Croatia and Kazakhstan, 1,3% - Iran, 1,0% - Ukraine, 0,9% each with Portugal and Belarus, 0,8% each with France and India, 12,5% of the trade operations were with other countries.

19,6% of the total value of imported goods to the country originated from China, 15,3% from Russia, 9,6% from Türkiye, 6,1% from USA, 5,3% from Switzerland, 3,7% from Australia, 3,4% from Germany, 3,3% from the United Kingdom, 2,9% from Uzbekistan, 2,6% from Iran, 2,4% from Kazakhstan, 2,1% from Italy, 1,4% each from Belarus and Japan, 1,3% each from Korea, Brazil and Mexico, 1,2% each from Canada, Ukraine, and the Republic of South Africa, 1,1% from France, 0,9% from India, and 11,4% from other countries.

45,3% of exports represented the value of products shipped to Italy, 13,5% to Türkiye, 4,7% to Russia, 3,3% to Greece, 3,2% to Bulgaria, 3,0% to Czech Republic, 2,8% to Georgia, 2,7% to Croatia, 2,5% to Romania, 2,2% to Germany, 1,9% to Switzerland, 1,7% to Portugal, 1,4% to the United Kingdom, 1,2% to Ireland, 0,9% each to Tunisia and Ukraine, 0,8% to the Netherlands, 0,7% to India, 0,6% to France, 0,5% each to Suria, Serbia, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan, 4,2% to other countries.

In the value of non-oil and gas product exports, the share of goods shipped to Russia (32,4%), Türkiye (16,5%), Georgia (9,6%), Switzerland (9,6%), Ukraine (5,5%), the United Arab Emirates (3,1%), Kazakhstan (2,6%), Belarus (2,2%), Uzbekistan (2,1%), Turkmenistan (1,7%), the USA (1,7%), Germany (1,3%), Italy (1,2%) predominated.

In 2025 compared to 2024 import of raw sugar increased by 24,2%, flour confectionery by 0,3%, beef by 12,9%, fresh vegetable by 29,0%, cigarettes by 3,0%, passenger cars by 38,1%, buses by 2,2-fold, mineral fertilizers by 6,8%, polyethylene by 20,7%, household air conditioners by 10,3%, polypropylene by 3,1%, ferrous metal corners by 5,9%, household refrigerators by 10,3%, while import of wheat decreased by 1,9%, vegetable oils 18,5%, butter, other dairy fats and pastes by 15,9%, fresh fruits by 13,1%, chocolate and chocolate products by 4,2%, tea by 6,4%, potato by 5,6%, poultry and its by-products by 31,6%, pharmaceuticals by 14,9%, rolled steel by 3,2%, ferrous metal pipes by 7,5%, computing machinery, blocks and installations by 9,1%, shoes by 2,2%, rubber tires by 5,7%, trucks by 3,2%, synthetic detergents by 7,3%, ferrous metal rods by 18,0%, washing machines by 6,7%, cement by 19,7%.

In 2025 compared to 2024 export of main types of products increased as follows: fresh fruits by 21,4%, fresh vegetables by 18,0%, sugar by 67,7%, cigarettes by 38,4%, potato by 47,8%, vegetable oils by 25,0%, polypropylene by 0,8%, unprocessed aluminum by 87,0%, polyethylene by 12,7%, cement clinkers by 11,5%, cotton yarn by 30,5%, while the export of tobacco decreased by 30,9%, fruit and vegetable juices by 1,2%, fruit and vegetable cans by 16,4%, tea by 2,9%, margarine and other edible mixtures by 34,3%, natural grape wines and grape must by 14,8%, mineral fertilizers by 3,8%, cotton fiber by 8,0%, electricity by 29,8%, ferrous metal pipes by 11,3%, ferrous metal rods by 36,1%, and bentonite clay by 15,1%.
