State Statistical Committee continues to conduct sample statistical surveys on tourism.

Starting this year, students from various higher education institutions have also been involved in conducting the surveys. They participate in conducting sample statistical surveys on tourism together with the Committee’s experts.

The surveys are conducted at Heydar Aliyev International Airport among foreigners and stateless persons visiting our country.

The purpose of the surveys is to collect the information required for the preparation of official statistical data on respondents’ purpose of visit, length of stay, means of accommodation, expenses incurred during the trip, and other indicators.   

The interviewers conducting the surveys received appropriate training in advance. The training programme covered the methodology for conducting statistical surveys, guidelines for communicating with respondents, and the principles of ethical behaviour.

Furthermore, involving students in statistical surveys provides an opportunity to strengthen the practical knowledge and skills of young specialists in the field of official statistics, as well as to contribute to the development of a qualified staff training for statistical activities. 

It should be noted that the data collected are used exclusively for statistical purposes, and the confidentiality of individual data is protected in accordance with the requirements of legislation.
