The Chairman of the State Statistical Committee Azer Mursagulov met with a delegation led by IMF Mission Chief for Azerbaijan Anna Bordon.

The parties emphasized the importance of continuing the cooperation in the development of official statistics, improving data quality and implementing international standards.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee provided detailed information on the institutional and methodological reforms being implemented to align the national statistical system with international standards and best practices, as well as on the progress achieved in this area.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the assessment of the System of National Accounts carried out within the framework of the IMF technical assistance, the ongoing review of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Official Statistics”, and prospects for future cooperation.
