In January-August 2026, services amounted to 10931,9 million manats were provided in the transportation and storage sector, representing a 8,7 percent increase in real terms compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Of the total services, 6495,8 million manats (59,4 percent) accounted for freight transportation, 3071,5 million manats (28,1 percent) for passenger transportation, and 1364,6 million manats (12,5 percent) for storage and postal services.

In the transport sector, 162,7 million tonnes or 3,0 percent more freight were transported compared to the same period of the previous year. Of the total freight transported, 63,4 percent was shipped by road, 25,3 percent by pipeline, 7,5 percent by rail, 3,6 percent by sea, and 0,2 percent by air.

The number of passengers transported amounted to 1491,1 million persons, or 9,6 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year. Of the total number of passengers, 89,8 percent were transported by road, 9,5 percent by subway, and 0,7 percent by other means of transport.
