He was born on March 1, 1980. In 2007, he graduated with honors from Azerbaijan State University of Economics, majoring in international economic relations. During 2004-2014 he held the positions of Senior Consultant, Head of the Division, Deputy Head of Department in the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. During 2014-2018 he held the positions of Head of the Division, Deputy Head of Department, Deputy Director-General and Deputy Head in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
From May 24, 2018, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Head of Adminstration of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He is a Counselor of Civil Service. Zaur Aliyev is married and has three children.
