Activity of transport on "Silk way"? in 2011

53.9 million tons or 4.3% more than last year cargo and 241.5 million person or 8.2% passengers were transported by the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor passing through the territory of the country in 2011. 43.5% of cargo transported by the corridor was share of automobile, 37.4% - railway, 19.1% - sea transport, 10.1% growth was recorded in sea transport, 7.9% in automobile transport.
30.1% or 16.2 million tons of cargo transported by corridor were transit cargo and the volume of these cargo increased by 263.0 thousand tons or 1.6% compared to 2010.
381.7 million manat income were achieved from cargo transportation, 83.0 million manta from passenger transportation and respectively increased by 18.4 and 34.8.
