Participation of representative of the State Statistical Committee
in the Meeting on the Management of Statistical Information Systems
Representative of the State Statistical Committee head of the Department of Quality Management and IT - Yusif Yusifov was participated in the meeting on the Management of Statistical Information Systems organized by International Monetary Fund (IMF), UNECE/ Eurostat /OECD on 21-23May, 2012 in Washington D.C., United States of America. The agenda of the meeting consisted of the following substantive topics: Architecture; Streamlining statistical production; Innovation; Collaboration; Open data / open government.
Totally about 80 specialists from 23 countries and 7 international organizations were participated in the Meeting. The meeting was held in the administrative building of IMF.
According to the agenda meeting was divided into sessions. Primary session was devoted to the architecture of Statistical Information System (methods and ways of collection of data, processing, dissemination).
The second session was about streamlining statistical production, in other word automation of data stream and also informed about standardized models for data entry, processing, checking and publication stage. Representatives of IMF, Eurostat, USA, Japan and ILO present their presentations on these themes. It was noted that, the main purpose for statistical bodies on management of data is identification of data.
Third session was about innovation. In this session representatives of Australia, USA, Italy and IMF took part in this discussion. They noted that, application of innovation in statistics firstly was about creation of new technologies, in next periods it showed itself in the management of new methods.
In the final session improvement of web pages, preparation of maximum availability for users and interactive web pages were discussed. Representatives of Australia, OECD, UNO, Italy and Netherlands took part in this discussion. It was noted that, dissemination of statistical data in active regime, presentation of text data mostly by "html"? format , as well as, indicators expressed by graphics impact to the interactivity of web page. During the session on cooperation of statistics informed about the practice on cooperation with information search system "Google"?.
At the end of the seminar the main priorities were defined in this direction. Followings were taking into account: study of interests and creation of its register, assessment, share of experiences and support to commercial organizations for creation of program platforms, preparation of global register of SDMX and etc.
