Meeting of Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Mr. R.Salimov with the expert group of the Advisory Committee of the Council of Europe

The Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan R.Salimov received the expert group of the Advisory Committee of the Council of Europe. The purpose of visit was getting data on national minority by the purpose of preparation of comment to the 3rd Periodic report on "Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities"? presented by the government of Azerbaijan to the Council of Europe .
The Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan R.Salimov greeted the expert group and noted that he will answer all questions interested group members on national minority. Member of expert group Anastasia Crickley expressed her gratitude for the warm hospitality and noted questions interested by the expert group: results of last population census carried out in 2009 in Azerbaijan, national minority situation reflected in the final materials, as well as, dissemination of published materials on results among the users.
The Deputy Chairman of the Committee R.Salimov noted that the materials published in a publication form with 23 volumes in Azerbaijani and 2 volumes in Azerbaijani and English on results of population census carried out on the base of recommendations of UNO and other international organizations in 2009. As well as, he was noted that 19th volume completely dedicated to the national minority (national minority, mother tongue, free-spoken language and etc.)
Member of expert group Anastasia Crickley asked to present them data on income and living standard of national minorities lived in different regions of the country. In response to this request The Deputy Chairman of the Committee R.Salimov noted that the State Statistical Committee has data on income and living standard of population on regions and these data will be presented to the members of expert group, but noted that these data are aggregated by regions and republic without bias against the national origin.
At the end of the meeting the Deputy Chairman of the Committee R.Salimov noted that State Statistical Committee implements all meetings and projects on the base of recommendations and demands of international organizations, as well as member of expert group informed about the positive assessment of State Statistical Committee by the mission of Global Assessment 2 years ago and also he was noted that, the result of final report on assessment was reflected in the official web page of European Statistical Office.
