Macro-economic indicators of economic and social development of the country during January-July, 2013

In January-July, 2013 production of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) compared to corresponding period of last year increased by 5.0% or by comparative prices 1563.0 million manat and reached to 32.3 milliard manat. 63.8% of GDP were created in the field of production, as well as, 47.7 % in industry, 10.8% in construction complex, 5.3% in agriculture. Special weight of service fields in value added was formed 29.7%, as well as, 5.6% in transport, 9.6% in trade and paid service, 1.7% in communication, 12.8% in social and other service fields. Net of tax to the product and import was formed 6.5% of GDP. On average production of GDP on per capita was formed 3484.7 manat (4441.3 USD) and it was increased by 3.7%.
Production of value added compared to last year increased by 10.5% in non-oil sector and it was decreased by 0.6% in oil sector.
In amount of 19.6 milliard manat industrial products were produced in the field of industry and it was increased by 0.4% compared to corresponding period of last year. 74.2% of product was produced in mining sector, 19.9% in processing sector and 5.3% in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.6% in the sector of water supply, treatment and processing of waste. Compared to the January-July, 2012 production output decreased by 0.8% in mining sector and it was increased by 8.0% in processing sector, 0.1% in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 8.9% in the sector of water supply, treatment and processing of waste.
Production output increased by 3.4% in non-oil sector of industry and it was decreased by 0.3% in oil sector.
From the products of mining sector oil production was formed 25.5 million tons, marketable gas production – 10.3 milliard cubic metre.
Production of food products in processing sector increased by 3.2%, production of beverage – 8.3%, leather and leather products, production of shoes – 36.5%, production of paper and cardboard - 2.0%, polygraphy activity – 1.7 times, production of oil products – 9.4%, chemical industry – 12.7%, production of automobiles and trailers – 1.9 times, production of computer and other electronic equipments –43.1%, production of construction materials –22.5%, production of metallurgy industry products – 11.4%, production of electric equipments – 14.7%, production of other transport means - 2.2 times, production of furniture – 4.2%, maintenance and installation of machine and equipments – 42.8%.
During seven months of the year 12.1 milliard kWh or less than 1.3% electricity was produced.
Till the 1st of August in agrarian sector 98.8% or 1016.5 thousand hectare of sowing area with winter and spring cereals and legumes were reaped and 2705.0 thousand tons products were taken from that fields. On average the product obtained on per capita increased by 0.3 metric centners and formed 26.6 metric centner. Besides that, 17.4 thousand tons product was taken from maize sowing area with 4.2 thousand hectare.
544.8 thousand tons or more than 23.8 thousand tons compared to corresponding period of last year potato, 728.3 thousand tons (more than 14.8 thousand tons) vegetable, 166.9 thousand tons (more than 4.2 thousand tons) fruit and berry, 297.1 thousand tons (more than 1.9 thousand tons) market garden crops, 394.8 tons (less than 0.6 tons) green tea leaf, 1434 tons or less than 135.6 tons tobacco were gathered from the fields.
In this period 259.4 thousand tons or more than 3.0% compared to January-July, 2012 meat in live weight, 1080.5 thousand tons (more than 7.2%) milk, 798.6 million unit (more than 14.1%) eggs, 15.4 thousand tons (more than 4.0%) wool were produced.
Thus, production of plant products increased by 4.3% compared to last year, production of live-stock products – 5.2%, total product of agriculture – 4.8%.
At the beginning of the year in amount of 8.8 milliard manat allocation were used in construction complex. 64.9% or 4.8 milliard manat of used allocation was directly spent to the execution of to assembly jobs. Compared to January-July of 2012 volume of investment spent to construction works increased by 23.3%, amount of allocation directed to assembly jobs – 37.9%. 74.7% or 6.6 milliard manat of allocation directed to the fixed assets was formed domestic investments and it was increased by 17.3%.
At the result of construction works carried out in the complex some production and social facilities were given into use. During seven months following production and non-production facilities were put into operation: dwellings with total area 1181.1 thousand square metre, ambulatory-polyclinic institutions which allows serve 130 persons, secondary schools with 5554 places for pupils, pre-school institutions with 777 places, club with 864 places, in Baku city - Production Union on “Ship Repair and Ship Building”, Hangar Complex and International Logistics Centre in the International Airport named by Heydar Aliyev, Gas turbine thermal power plant, “Fairmont Baku” hotel at Flame Towers complex, Buzovna-Mardakan-Gala highway, Underground parking, in Sumgait city “Textile Park “Gilan”, in Shirvan city “South” Electric Station, Olympic Sport Complex and Shirvan-Mugan Group water-piping, in Absheron region - region - “Milla” Dairy Products and Ice-cream Production Factory, Disposable plastic containers and Performing Manufacturing, in Agstafa region Paintball and Shooting Centre, in Gazakh region Cement factory, Gazakh-Gushchu Ayrim motorway, in Gabala region grape processing factory, dairy and livestock breeding complex, in Gobustan region – Sport Complex, in Hajigabul - Ceramic tiles production plant in Khachmaz region – Guba Khachmaz Regional Development Centre, Olympic Sport Complex, in Siyazan region Youth Centre, in Tovuz region Hemodialysis Centre, Tovuz-Govlar-Agbashlar motorway, in Shabran region Valvalachay Taxtakorpu canal, Taxtakorpu reservoir storage, Shabran-Pirabedil-Zeyve motorway and others.
In the current year from state budget in amount of 7055.2 million manat allocation was considered for the construction activities in the country and 3958.2 million manat of allocation was used.
Related with the execution of second State Program on socio-economic development of regions during 2009-2013 in the frame of this program 419.8 thousand new, as well as, 320.0 thousand permanent job place were opened for the state of 1 July, 2013, 58.7 thousand of them as well as, 44.7 thousand permanent job places were created in the first half of 2013. 72.7% of job places created at the result of activities directed to the development of regions were opened in regions, 95.5% of them were opened in non-state sector.
During January – July – 122.1 million tons or more than 2.3 % cargo compared to corresponding period of last year and 956.6 million person passengers or more than 7.8% were conveyed by natural entities engaged in the field of automobile transport and transport enterprises. 10.7% of cargos were transported by railway, 56.0% by automobile transport, 5.7% by sea transport, 27.6% by pipeline and 87.2% of passengers were conveyed by automobile, 12.5% by metropolitan.
By factual prices in amount of 845.5 million manat or more than 6.9% compared to last year communication services were rendered to population, enterprises and organizations by information and communication enterprises. 72.3% of services were directly services to population and 76.6% of received income was share of non-state sector.
During January-July, 2013 income of population increased by 7.2% compared to corresponding period of last year and reached to 18.9 milliard manat and income on per capita increased by 5.8% and reached to 2040.8 manat (291.5 manat monthly on average). 68.9% of income was used to final consumption, 9.3% - to the payment of taxes, social insurance and membership dues, 20.2 % to the growth of deposits and capitals.
Average monthly salary/wage of employees increased by 6.8% and reached to 410.8 manat. Salary/wage of persons engaged in industry, construction, transport and etc. were higher and during January-June average monthly salary-wage of persons engaged in industry was formed 638.7 manat, average monthly salary-wage of persons engaged in construction complex – 605 manat, in transport – 523.3 manat, in communication 665.9 manat.
Increasing on income of population gives opportunity to buy more commodity goods from trade networks and widely use of services. At the result of such condition compared to seven months of last year retail trade turnover increased by 9.2% and reached to 10.7 milliard manat and volume of paid services increased by 6.8% and reached to 3.3 milliard manat. 52.1% of sold goods were formed food products, 47.9% - non-food products and their sale correspondingly increased by 0.2% and 21.8%.
During seven months of 2013 in amount of 1235.5 thousand manat non-food products and 95.9 thousand manat food products were sold to customers by electron trade turnover.
According to the data of State Customs Committee during January-June, 2013 volume of foreign trade turnover increased by 5.4% compared to corresponding period of last year with constant prices and it was formed 17.1 milliard dollars, its 88.4% or 15.1 milliard dollars were carried out with far foreign countries and 2.0 milliard dollars with CIS member countries.
During six months in amount of 11.9 milliard dollars different products were sent to foreign countries, its 11.2 milliard dollars exported to far foreign countries, 738.7 million dollars to CIS member countries.
During six months export of non-oil products were increased by 13.5% with constant prices.
Value of imported products to the country was formed 5.2 milliard dollars. Volume of imported goods from far foreign countries was 3.9 milliard dollars, from CIS member countries 1.3 milliard dollars.
During six months in amount of 6.8 milliard dollars, as well as, in amount of 7.3 milliard dollars positive balance was created with far foreign countries and in amount of 515.7 million dollars negative balance was created with CIS member countries.
Taking into account data received from State Oil Company and AIOC foreign trade turnover was formed 21.6 milliard dollars (as well as 16.4 milliard dollars export), it was increased by 2.6% and balance was 11.2 milliard dollars.
In January-June in amount of 12.1 million dollars humanitarian and technical aid was received.
During three months of the year decreasing of prices were observed in the country. In July compared with June prices of consumer goods and service tariffs decreased by 0.7%, as well as prices of food products – 1.7%, service tariffs increased by 0.1%, prices of non-food products were remained at the level of last month. During seven months prices and tariffs increased by 2.1% compared to corresponding period of last year, as well as, prices of food products – 2.0%, prices of non-food products – 0.5%, service tariffs - 3.3%.
In accordance with the data of Ministry of Finance during January-June in amount of 9.5 milliard manat funds or more than 17.1% compared to corresponding period of 2012 were entered to the state budget, during this period in amount of 8.7 milliard manat fund or more than 22.8% compared to corresponding period of 2012 were spent from budget, in amount of 794.3 million manat or as 2.9% of GDP surplus was created.
3849.8 million manat (44.1%) of budget funds were directed to the development of economy, 906.5 million manat (10.4%) to social defense and social protection, 839.7million manat (9.6%) to education and to health.
19.0 % (1657.3 million manat) expenditures were spent to the payment of salary/wage, pensions and benefits.
For the state of 1st July, 2013 sum of credit resources given by credit organizations was reached to 13.8 milliard manat and it was increased by 28.3% compared to the corresponding period of last year. 34.5% of credit investment was realized by state, 62.9% by private banks and 2.6% by credit organizations. 76.5% of given credits were long-term credits and 5.7 % of its payment was expired.
For the state of 1 July, 2013 remainder of deposits of population in banks were 5922.2 million manat and it was increased by 35.4% compared to the same period of last year. 3583.8 million manat or 60.5% of deposits were with national currency, 2338.4 million manat – with foreign currency and it was correspondingly increased by 44.5% and 23.6% compared to last year.
In July average monthly rate of exchange of national currency for 1 US dollars was 0.78 manat, 1Euro – 1.03 manat, 100 Russian rouble – 2.39 manat. In January-July correspondingly was 0.78, 1.03 and 2.51 manat.
