Demographic situation in Azerbaijan

For the state of 1st March, 2014 number of the country population was reached to 9494.6 thousand person and it was increased by 0.2% or 17.5person compared to the beginning of the year. 49.7% of population formed men, 50.3%- women. Density of the country population made 110 persons per square km. There are 1011 women to per 1000 men. 53.2% of total population is urban residents and 46.8% - rural residents.
27.7 thousand or on average 469 infants for every day were born during two months of 2014, compared to the corresponding period of last year by the account of per 1000 person birth stayed at the same level (18.3) and remained unchanged. 53.6% of births were boys, 46.4% - girls.
During January-February 10.7 thousand deaths were registered in the country and mortality rate formed 7.0 by the account of per 1000 person.
11.3 thousand marriages and 1.9 thousand divorces were registered by the official bodies from the beginning of the year and compared to the corresponding period of 2013 by the account of per 1000 person number of marriages increased from 6.9 to 7.5, number of divorces remained unchanged and stayed at the same level (1.3).
During January-February of current year 533 arrivals to Azerbaijan for permanent residence and 129 people departures from the country registered by the corresponding authorities of Ministry of Internal Affairs and State Migration Service.
