Macro-economic indicators of economic and social development of the country during January-September, 2014

Production of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) compared to January-September, 2014 increased by 2.5% or with comparative prices 1.1 milliard manat and formed 44.1 milliard manat. 61.6% of GDP were created in the production output fields as well as 44.3% in industry, 11.9% in construction complex, 5.4% in agriculture. Share of service fields in GDP was 31.2% as well as 4.7% in transport, 9.8% in trade and paid services, 1.7% in communication, 15.0% social and other services. 7.2% of GDP was share of net tax to the product and import. On average production of GDP on per capita was 4696.3 manat (5987.9 USD).
Production of value added in non-oil sector increased by 6.0% and it was decreased by 2.0% in oil sector.
Taking into account activity of natural entities in industrial fields which has the biggest share in the composition of GDP in amount of 25.2 milliard manat industrial products were produced and it was 99.4% compared to the corresponding period of last year. 71.8% of product was produced in mining sector, 22.3% in processing sector and 5.3% in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.6% in the sector of water supply, treatment and processing of waste. Compared to January-September, 2013 production output in mining sector decreased by 1.6%, in processing sector (1.5%), and it was increased by 4.3% in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 3.6% in the sector of water supply, treatment and processing of waste.
In the mining sector of industry oil production was 32.1 million tons, production of marketable gas 13.8 milliard cubic metre.
Production of food products increased by 2.3% compared to the corresponding period of last year in processing sector, beverage production 9.2%, production of tobacco products 85.3%, production of clothing 50.7%, production of chemical industry 21.7%, production of ready metal products 8.8%, production f construction materials 19.4%, production of electronic equipment 27.0%, production of furniture 10.0%, production of automobile and trailers 57.0%, production of other transport means 3.5 times, production of jewellery, music, sport and medical equipment 79.2%, installation and maintenance of machine and equipment 77.9%.
Production of electricity in the sector of distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam production with 16.1 milliard kWh increased by 6.3%.
Production output in non-oil sector of industry increased by 6.0% and it was decreased by 2.0% in oil sector.
During this period 2338.3 thousand tons (by initial weight) grain (including maize) were gathered from agriculture field by farmworkers, 808.9 thousand tons potato, 1125.0 thousand tons vegetable, 532.4 thousand tons fruits and berries, 439.9 thousand tons market-garden crops, 106.1 thousand tons grape, 20.4 thousand tons cotton, 404.2 tons green tea leaves, 2.2 thousand tons tobacco, 29.1 thousand tons sugar beet, 19.8 thousand tons sunflower for seed.
Production of sunflower for seed increased by 11.8% compared to the corresponding period of last year, 2.9% production of market-garden crops, 1.7% production of grape, 0.4% production of fruits and berries and production of grain crops decreased by 19.3%, production of potato 17.8%, production of tobacco 16.2%, production of sugar beet 16.0%, production of tea 14.8%, production of vegetable 1.1%.
Head number of cattle reached to 2721.4 thousand head, head number of sheep and goats 8767.5 thousand head, during this period 324.9 thousand tons meat in live weight, 1416.3 thousand tons milk, 1164.2 million units egg and 16.3 thousand tons wool were produced. Production of meat increased by 1.5% compared to January-September, 2013, production of milk 3.6%, production of egg 11.6%, production of wool 1.5%.
So, production of live-stock products in terms of value was more than 3.0% compared to the level of last year, production of plant products 9.0%, total products of agriculture 3.7%.
For the products of next year land with 449.1 thousand hectare was ploughed and in the area with 31.9 thousand hectare winter crops were sowed for seed by farmworkers.
In amount of 11.9 milliard manat investment were used in construction complex from the beginning of the year. 73.1% or 8.7 milliard manat of used allocation was directly spent to construction-assembly works. Volume of investment directed to fixed assets increased by 0.2% compared to January-September, 2013, amount of allocation spent directly to construction-assembly works 8.5%. 70.4% of allocation directed to the fixed assets was formed domestic investments. 62.9% of allocation was spent to the development of non-oil sector.
At the result of construction works carried out in the complex some production and social facilities were given into use. During nine months following production and non-production facilities were put into operation: dwellings with total area 1459.3 thousand square metre, secondary schools with 24812 places for pupils, pre-school institutions with 1092 places, hospital with 230 beds, ambulatory-polyclinic institutions which allows serve 142 persons, in Baku city – “Norm” Cement Plant, new shipyard of the State Border Service's Coast Guard, new administrative-academic complex of National Conservatory, a ferry terminal in the frame of first phase of new Baku International Sea Trade Port Complex, new buildings of Central Library of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and “Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia” science center, building of National Institute of Sports Medicine, Diagnostics and Rehabilitation, Surakhany solar power plant, Health Centre, National Gymnastics Arena, multi-level junction with different levels, in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic - Arpachay -2 Hydroelectric Power Station, Water-storage Reservoir and Water Treatment Complex, Youth Centre, in Sumgait city - Azerbaijan Paper and Cardboard Factory, Oil Factory, Copper Processing Plant, in Ganja city Metal Casting and Continuous Rolling, Pressure Processing and Dying Plants, in Shirvan city – bridge over the Kur river, in Agdash region - Food and Fruit Processing Plants, "Aghdash" Electrical substation, in Beylegan region – Chess school, city stadium, First Shahseven-Ahmadli-Dunyamalilar inter-village highway, in Fuzuli region - Garment factory, Ahmadalilar – Mollamaharramli – Arayatli – Babi inter-village highway, in Goy-Gol region - Olympic Sport Complex, Youth Centre, in Imishli region – Bulagli-Bahramtapa part of Hajigabul – Bahramtapa highway, in Gabala region - first stage of “Tufan” Alpine Skiing Summer and Winter Recreation Complex, Hotel Complex “Qafqaz Yengicə Termal Hotel and SPA”, in Lankaran region – Bread Factory, in Shamakhi region - “Shamakhi Palace Platinum By Rixos” hotel and others.
In the current year from state budget in amount of 5 milliard manat allocation was considered for the construction activities in the country and 4.0 milliard manat of allocation was used.
During January – September 165.0 million tons or more than 2.1 % cargo compared to corresponding period of last year and 1.3 milliard person passengers or more than 5.0% were conveyed by natural entities engaged in the field of automobile transport and transport enterprises. Cargos transported by automobile transport increased by 2.7%, by air transport 2.5%, conveyance f passengers by automobile transport 5.1%, by metro 4.1%.
In amount of 1.1 milliard manat or more than 12.6% compared to nine months of last year communication services were rendered to population, enterprises and organizations by information and communication enterprises. 72.6% of services were directly rendered to population and income received from mobile telephone service increased by 7.3% and reached to 671.1 million manat and it was formed 58.8% of all income.
During January-September, 2014 income of population increased by 5.4% compared to corresponding period of last year and reached to 27.2 milliard manat and income on per capita increased by 4.0% and reached to 2890.3 manat. 70.1% of income was used to final consumption, 9.2% to the payment of taxes, social insurance and membership dues, 18.1 % to the growth of deposits and capitals. After payment of taxes and membership dues on average 2625.7 manat remained in per capita disposal and it was increased by 4.5% in the comparable period.
During January-August, 2014 average monthly salary/wage of employees increased by 5.9% compared to the corresponding period of previous year and formed 440.9 manat. Salary/wage of persons engaged in industry, construction, transport and etc. were higher and during January-August average monthly salary/wage of persons engaged in industry were 703.7 manat, salary/wage of persons engaged in construction complex 627.2 manat, salary/wage of persons engaged in transport sector 541.3 manat, in information and communication sector 720.5 manat. Salary/wage in oil sector was formed 1746.3 manat, in non-oil sector 407.9 manat, in state sector 356.3 manat, in private sector 565.5 manat.
During nine months from consumer market in amount of 15.5 milliard manat consumer goods was purchased by population and paid 4.8 milliard manat in exchange for rendered services. Commodity turnover increased by 9.4%, compared to January-September, 2013 as well as, selling of food products 3.2%, selling of non-food products 15.9%, volume of paid services 6.4%. During January-September, 2014 in amount of 4137.0 thousand manat non-food products and 224.3 thousand manat food products was sold to buyers by e-trade turnover.
According to the data of State Customs Committee during January-August volume of foreign trade turnover decreased by 9.7% by fixed prices compared to the corresponding period of last year and formed 21.0 milliard dollars, 91.1% or 19.1 milliard dollars were implemented with foreign countries, 1.9 milliard dollars were carried out with CIS member countries.
During eight months in amount of 15.4 milliard dollars different products were exported, 96.3% or 14.8 milliard dollars of it sent to foreign countries, 562.9 million dollars or 3.7% to CIS member countries.
Value of imported products to the country was 5.6 milliard dollars as well as volume of import goods from foreign countries 4.3 milliard dollars and import from CIS member countries 1.3 milliard dollars.
During eight months in amount of 9.8 milliard dollars as well as in amount of 10.5 milliard dollars with foreign countries positive balance was created, in amount of 747.5 million dollars negative balance was created.
Export of non-oil products was 1.1 milliard dollars in January-August.
Taking into account the data on export of crude oil and natural gas received from AIOC and State Oil Company foreign trade turnover was 27.6 milliard dollars (as well as export 22.0 milliard dollars) and positive balance was 16.4 milliard dollars.
In September compared with August prices of consumer goods and service tariffs increased by 1.1% as well as prices of food products 2.6%, service tariffs 0.1% and prices of non-food products remained the level of August. Compared to the corresponding period of last year during nine months prices and tariffs increased by 1.5%, as well as prices of food products 1.0%, non-food products 3.6%, service tariffs 0.4%.
According to the data of Ministry of Finance during January-August in amount of 12.4 milliard manat allocation was received by state budget, during this time 11.5 milliard manat allocations was spent, surplus in amount of 938.4 million manat or 2.4% of GDP was created. 5.0 milliard manat of budget expenses or 43.9% was directed to the development of economics, 1.3 milliard manat (11.1%) to education and health, 1.3 milliard manat (11.2%) to social protection and social security of population.
For the state of 1st September, 2014 amount of credit resources of Credit Organizations reached to 17.3 milliard manat and it was increased by 19.7% compared to the corresponding period last year.
13.7 milliard manat of credits were long-term credits, 3.6 milliard manat short term credits and 5.4% or 938.8 million manat of its payment was expired.
Amount of deposits of population in banks increased by 14.8 % compared to the corresponding period of last year and reached to 7.0 milliard manat. 4.4 milliard manat of deposits were with national currency, 2.6 milliard manat – with foreign currency.
Exchange rate. During September 1 US dollars was equal to 0.78 manat, 1Euro (1.01manat), 100 Russian roubles (2.07 manat). From the beginning of the year it was correspondingly 0.78, 1.06 and 2.21 manat.
