Macro-economic indicators of economic and social development of the country in January-February, 2015

Output of Gross Domestic Product increased by 4.2% compared to January-February, 2014 and it became to 7.1 milliard manat 36.3% of value added created in the field of industry, 10.4% in complex of construction and 15.5 % in trade and in the field of paid service, 6.7% in transport, 2.4% in communication enterprises and 3.4% in agrarian, 14.9% in other fields. 66.6% of value added was produced in non-oil sector and compared to January-February of last year it was increased by 5.1% and 3.3% in oil-gas sector.
During January-February, 2015 industry products in amount of 3.7 milliard manat or more than 2.3% compared to corresponding period of last year were produced by industry enterprises and natural entities engaged in this field. Production output in mining sector increased by 5.4%, as well as oil output 1.6%, marketable gas output 10.5%.
59.9% of industry product was produced in mining sector, 29.2% in processing sector, 9.9% in distribution and supply on electricity, gas and steam, 1.0% in the sector of water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities.
During two months beverage production from products of processing sector of industry increased by 1.5%, production of products on chemical industry 20.6%, production of rubber and plastic products 29.3%, production of ready metal products 7.6%, production of construction materials 24.0%, production of electric equipment 73.6%.
Production output in the sector of electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply of industry increased by 2.3%, electricity production 1.2% and it became to 4.1 milliard kVt hours.
Production output in the sector of water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities increased by 10.0%.
During two months 99.7% of produced products were sent to consumers. However, considering the balance of the previous periods of industrial enterprises, ready products in amount of 312.8 million manat were in the warehouses and it was increased by 21.1 million manat compared to the previous month.
Workers of the section of agrarian started sowing of plant-growing. Until the 1st March in the area of 47.7 thousand hectare spring sowings were planted, as well as, in the area 1031 hectare– grain and grain-crops, in the area with 11.0 hectare – potato, in the area with 7.3 thousand hectare – vegetable, in the area with28.3 hectare –perennial grasses.
From animal-produce in live weight production of meat increased by 1.4 thousand tons or 1.9 % and became 72.3 thousand tons, production of milk increased by 11.5 thousand tons or 4.3% and became 279.4 thousand tons, production of egg increased by 17.1 million units or 7.1% and became 257.6 million units, from plant-growing 226 tons (or more than 6.0%) vegetables were produced.
Production of plant growing increased by 3.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2014, production of animal-produce 3.1%, and total products of agriculture 3.1%.
During January – February resources in amount of 1697.5 million manat or more than 0.5% compared to the corresponding period of last year were used in construction complex of the country and 1247.0 million manat of it was spent for the execution of construction works. 886.5 million manat of funds directed to fixed assets came from local resources.
By the account of funds allocated from different sources during two months completed the construction of dwelling houses with 262.9 thousand square metre, ambulatory-polyclinic institutions which allows serve 90 persons, secondary schools with 998 pupils place, pre-school institutions with 150 places, club and cultural houses with 140 places. As well as followings were given into use: in Baku city - “White city-1”, “Hazi Aslanov”, “Kurdakhani with 110 kV” and 7 electric power substations with 35 kV, in Sumgayit city - Concrete Plant and “Alyans Tekstil” sewing factory, in Gusar region - “Park Chalet Shahdag” hotel.
During two months 33.2 million tons cargo and 283.8 million person passengers were transported by the natural entities and transport enterprises engaged in transportation of goods and passengers. In comparison with the corresponding period of last year cargo transportation increased by 3.8%, conveyance of passengers 4.1%. Cargo transportation by automobile transport increased by 2.6%, by railway 18.5%, by air transport 28.0% and conveyance of passengers by automobile transport also increased by 3.7%, by metro 6.2%, by railway 2.8%, by air transport 3.0%.
Volume of rendered services to population, office and organization by information and communication enterprises in January-February increased by 10.0% compared to corresponding period of last year and formed 254.7 million manat.
Consumer goods in amount of 3543.8 million manat were sold from retail trade network and paid services in amount of 1076.7 million manat were rendered by service enterprises. Compared to January-February, 2014 commodity turnover was increased by 8.5%, volume of paid services 5.1%, country residents bought food products, beverages and tobacco products in amount of 1775.1 million manat and non-food products in amount of 1768.7 million manat from retail trade network.
According to the data of State Customs Committee in January, 2015 trade operations in amount of 1852.0 milliard dollars were conducted with foreign countries by the natural and legal entities of the country. 69.0% or 1277.8 million dollars of commodity turnover was exported goods, 31.0% (574.2 million dollars) imported goods and positive balance in amount of 703.6 million dollars was formed. 9.3% or 172.4 milliard dollars of commodity turnover carried out with CIS member countries, 58.0% or 1074.1 million dollars with EU countries, 32.7% (605.5 million dollars) with other countries.
23.8% or 136.8 million dollars of imported goods to the country received from CIS member countries, 33.4% or 191.9 million dollars from EU countries, 42.8% (245.5 million dollars) from other countries. 28.7% of imported goods were machines, mechanisms, electro technique equipment, apparatus, 17.6% semi-precious metals and manufactured products from them, 9.8% food products, alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks, vinegar, tobacco, 8.7% dry-road vehicles, flying apparatus, floating transport means, 7.0% products of chemical industry, 6.8% plant growing, 2.8% plastics, rubber and products made from them and etc..
2.8% or 35.6 milliard dollars of exported goods from the country sent to CIS member countries, 69.0% or 882.2 million dollars to EU countries, 28.2% (360.0 million dollars) to other countries. Among the exported goods sent to foreign countries has been dominated by mineral products. Besides this, also plant growing, food, products of chemical industry, semi-precious metals and manufactured products from them, plastics, rubber and manufactured products from them and etc. were exported from the country.
Commodity turnover most of all were realized with Italy, France, Germany, Russia, Turkey, Austria, Spain, Czech, Thailand and Tunis.
Export of non-oil products increased by 16.0% and formed 124.2 million dollars.
In January the country received Humanitarian and technical aid in amount of 0.5 million dollars.
Taking into account the data received from SOCAR and AIOC foreign trade turnover was formed 1959.4 million dollars, as well as, export 1385.2 million dollars, and positive balance in amount of 811.0 million dollars was created.
During February prices and service tariffs of consumer goods increased by 4.0% compared to January, as well as, prices of food products 6.6%, prices of non-food products 3.1% and service tariffs 1.2%. In January-February of the current year prices and service tariffs of consumer goods increased by 2.0% compared to the corresponding period of 2014 as well as, prices of food products 2.5%, prices of non-food products 1.7% and service tariffs 1.4%.
During January, average monthly salary of employed increased by 4.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2014 and became to 444.4 manat.
During two months of 2015 income of per population increased by 3.7% and reached to 618.0 manat. 75.4% of income was spent to final consumption, 9.8% to taxes, social insurance and membership dues and 12.5% to increasing of savings.
According to the data of Ministry of Finance, in January, 2015 state budget received fund in amount of 1.7 milliard manat and means in amount of 1.3 milliard manat were spent from budget. 421.6 million manat surplus between income and expenditure of budget was equal to 11.6 % of gross domestic product. 812.8 million manat of budget expenses was directed to development of economy, 202.7 million manat to social protection and social security, 38.4 million manat to education and health.
Credit in amount of 18.6 milliard manat was given to natural and legal entities by finance-credit organizations of the country until the 1February, 2015. The volume of given credits increased by 19.6% compared to 1 February, 2014, 79.3 % or 14.7 milliard manat of it was long-term. 1.0 milliard manat or 5.5% of credits payment was expired.
Amount of deposits of population in banks during a year increased by 10.4% and reached to 7.1 milliard manat for the state of 1 February.
During February exchange rate of national currency for 1 US dollar was equal to 0.86 manat, 1 Euro 0.98 manat and 100 Russian rouble 1.34 manat, it was correspondingly was equal to 0.82 manat, 0.95 manat and 1.29 manat.
