Macro-economic indicators of economic and social development of the country in I quarter of 2015

Output of Gross Domestic Product increased by 5.3% compared to January-March, 2014 and it became to 11.5 milliard manat. 34.7% of value added created in the field of industry, 12.5% in complex of construction and 15.0 % in trade and in the field of accommodation of tourists and catering sectors, 6.2% in transport, 2.2% in communication enterprises and 3.0% in agrarian, 16.2% in other fields. Value added in non-oil sector compared to January-March of the last year increased by 7.0% and 3.4% in oil-gas sector.
In the first quarter of 2015 industry products in amount of 5.8 milliard manat or more than 3.9% compared to corresponding period of last year were produced by industry enterprises and natural entities engaged in this field. Production output in mining sector increased by 5.6%, as well as oil output 1.8%, marketable gas output 11.2%.
58.7% of industry product was produced in mining sector, 30.9% in processing sector, 9.4% in distribution and supply on electricity, gas and steam, 1.0% in the sector of water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities.
During three months beverage production from products of processing sector of industry increased by 3.0%, production of chemical industry, pharmaceutical products, rubber and plastic products 1.5 times, production of ready metal products 8.0%, production of construction materials 28.4%.
Production output in the sector of electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply of industry increased by 1.9%, water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities 9.7%.
In non-oil sector of industry production output was increased by 9.0%.
During three months 99.7% of produced products were sent to consumers. However, for the state of 01April, 2015 considering the balance of the previous periods of industrial enterprises, ready products in amount of 312.8 million manat were in the warehouses.
In agriculture the works on spring-field is carrying out rapidly and till the 1st of April sowing spring crops have been carried out in the 116.8 thousand hectare sowing area. During this period in the sowing area with 7.5 thousand hectare grain and grain legumes (excluding maize) have been planted, maize for grain - in the area with 3.0 thousand hectare, potato - in the area with 28.8 thousand hectare, vegetable – in the area with 25.1 thousand hectare, cotton – in the area with 64.0 hectare, market garden crops – in the area with 3.2 thousand hectare, sunflower for grain – in the area with 774.0 hectare, sugar-beet – in the area with 1.7 thousand hectare and perennial grasses - in the area with 46.0 thousand hectare.
In the first quarter head number of live-stock compared for the state of 01January, 2015 increased by 0.2% and reached to 2701.9 thousand, number of sheep and goat increased by 1.6% and reached to 8784.4 thousand head. In this period meat production in live weight increased by 2.5% and became to109.8 thousand tons, milk production increased by 4.3% and became to 426.9 thousand tons, production of egg increased by 5.1% and became to 390.1 million units.
In three months of the current year13.0 thousand tons or more than 9.8 % compared to the corresponding period of the last year vegetable was gathered from the fields.
Thus, total harvest of agriculture compared to the first quarter of last year increased by 3.4%, as well as, production of plant-growing products 5.9%, production of cattle-breeding products 3.3%.
During January – March resources in amount of 3232.8 million manat or more than 3.0% compared to the corresponding period of last year were used in construction activities and 2421.4 million manat of it was spent for the execution of construction works and it was increased 14.5%. 1768.4 million manat of funds directed to fixed assets came from local resources.
By the account of funds allocated from different sources during three months completed the construction of dwelling houses with 414.5 thousand square metre, ambulatory-polyclinic institutions which allows serve 135 persons, secondary schools with 1658 pupils place, pre-school institutions with 200 places, club and cultural centres with 140 places. As well as followings were given into use: in Baku city - “White city-1”, “Hazi Aslanov”, “Kurdakhani with 110 kV” and 7 electric power substations with 35 kV, Baku Olympic Stadium, Shooting Centre, in Sumgayit city - Concrete Plant and “Alyans Tekstil” sewing factory, in Barda region - Mollaisalar-Valiushaghı-Mollaahmadli-Sarkarlar highway, in Gusar region - “Park Chalet Shahdag” hotel.
Since 2004 up today from starting of execution of the State Program on socio- economic development of regions 1394.4 thousand new as well as 1035.4 thousand permanent job places were established. Starting from 2014 related with the execution of third State Program 157.1 thousand new as well as 129.6 thousand permanent job places was opened. Number of new established job places in the country in the first quarter of 2015 was 29.8 thousand as well as number of permanent job places was 25.0 thousand.
During January-March 50.4 million tons cargo and 429.8 million person passengers were transported by the natural entities and transport enterprises engaged in transport complex. In comparison with the corresponding period of last year cargo transportation increased by 2.6%, conveyance of passengers 3.8%. Cargo transportation by automobile transport increased by 2.6%, by railway 7.5%, by air transport 65.8% and conveyance of passengers by automobile transport also increased by 3.7%, by metro 3.9%, by air transport 4.1%.
Volume of rendered services to population, office and organization by information and communication enterprises in January-March increased by 9.3% compared to corresponding period of last year and formed 379.4 million manat.
Consumer goods in amount of 5760.3 million manat were sold from retail trade network and paid services in amount of 1675.6 million manat were rendered by service enterprises. Compared to first quarter of 2014 commodity turnover was increased by 9.6%, volume of paid services 5.3%, country residents bought food products, beverages and tobacco products in amount of 2894.0 million manat and non-food products in amount of 2866.3 million manat from retail trade network.
According to the data of State Customs Committee in January-February, 2015 trade operations in amount of 4041.7 million dollars were conducted with foreign countries by the natural and legal entities of the country. 57.8% or 2334.6 million dollars of commodity turnover was exported goods, 42.2% (1707.1 million dollars) imported goods and positive balance in amount of 627.5 million dollars was established. Volume of foreign trade turnover compared to January-February, 2014 increased by 20.4%, as well as export 20.4%, import 42.0%. 9.9% or 400.7 million dollars of commodity turnover carried out with CIS member countries, 43.0% or 1737.5 million dollars with EU countries, 47.1% (1903.5 million dollars) with other countries.
19.8% or 338.3 million dollars of imported goods to the country received from CIS member countries, 21.5% or 366.7 million dollars from EU countries, 58.7% (1002.1 million dollars) from other countries.
2.7% or 62.4 million dollars of exported goods was sent to CIS member countries, 58.7% or 1370.8 million dollars to EU countries, 38.6% (901.4 million dollars) to other countries.
During two months of the current year export of non-oil products compared to the corresponding period of the last year increased by 72.6% and formed 349.9 million dollars. From non-oil products export of agricultural goods increased by 60.2%, export of other industrial goods 2.4%.
In March compared to February prices and service tariffs of consumer goods increased by 0.9% as well as, prices of food products 1.8%, prices of non-food products 0.5% and service tariffs 0.1%. In January-March of the current year prices and service tariffs of consumer goods increased by 2.8% compared to the corresponding period of 2014 as well as, prices of food products 3.9%, prices of non-food products 2.4% and service tariffs 1.6%.
During January-February average monthly salary of employed increased by 4.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2014 and became to 444.5 manat.
In the first quarter of 2015 income of per population increased by 5.3% and reached to 9.5 milliard manat. 75.7% of income was spent to final consumption, 9.6% to taxes, social insurance and membership dues and 12.6% to increasing of savings.
According to the data of Ministry of Finance, in January-February, 2015 state budget received fund in amount of 2.8 milliard manat and means in amount of 2.7 milliard manat were spent from budget. 80.1 million manat surplus between income and expenditure of budget was equal to 1.1 % of gross domestic product. 1.4 milliard manat of budget expenses was directed to development of economy, 359.1 million manat to social protection and social security, 200.8 million manat to education and health.
Credit in amount of 20.7 milliard manat was given to natural and legal entities by finance-credit organizations of the country until the 1March, 2015. The volume of given credits increased by 32.1% compared to 1 March, 2014, 78.2 % or 16.2 milliard manat of it was long-term. 1.1 milliard manat or 5.5% of credits payment was expired.
Amount of deposits of population in banks during a year increased by 20.3% and reached to 7.9 milliard manat for the state of 1 March.
During March exchange rate of national currency for 1 US dollar was equal to 1.05 manat, 1 Euro 1.14 manat and 100 Russian rouble 1.73 manat, since the beginning of the year it was correspondingly was equal to 0.9 manat, 1.01 manat and 1.44 manat.
