Macro-economic indicators of economic and social development of the country in January-April, 2015

Output of Gross Domestic Product increased by 5.5% compared to January-April, 2014 and it became to 16.6 milliard manat. 36.2% of value added created in the field of industry, 13.5% in complex of construction and 13.5 % in trade and in the field of accommodation of tourists and catering sectors, 6.0% in transport, 2.0% in communication enterprises and 3.0% in agriculture, 15.2% in other fields. Net of tax to the product and import was formed 10.6% of GDP.
Value added in non-oil sector compared to the same period of the last year increased by 6.8% and 4.0% in oil-gas sector.
In January-April, 2015 industry products in amount of 8.5 milliard manat or more than 3.7% compared to corresponding period of last year were produced by industry enterprises and natural entities engaged in this field. Production output in mining sector increased by 3.9%, as well as oil output 0.8%, marketable gas output 12.4%.
62.3% of industry product was produced in mining sector, 28.5% in processing sector, 8.3% in distribution and supply on electricity, gas and steam, 0.9% in the sector of water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities.
Production of food products in processing sector increased by 10.0%, chemical industry 84.2%, production of rubber and plastic products 17.3%, production of construction materials 14.7%, metallurgical industry 3.3%, production of ready metal products 76.9%, production of electrical equipment 72.1%.
Production output in the sector of electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply of industry has been increased.
Production output in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities increased by 9.7%.
In non-oil sector of industry production output has been increased by 10.5%.
98.8% of produced products were sent to consumers. However, for the state of 01May, 2015 considering the balance of the previous periods there were ready products in amount of 392.3 million manat in warehouses of industrial enterprises.
Agricultural activities in summer fields were continued and till the 1st May in the sowing area with 253.2 thousand hectare spring crops have been planted, as well as, in the sowing area with 21.4 thousand hectare grain and grain legumes (excluding maize), in the sowing area with 18.2 thousand hectare maize for grain, in the sowing area with 54.0 thousand hectare potato, in the sowing area with 51.2 thousand hectare vegetable, in the sowing area with 11.7 thousand hectare cotton seed, in the sowing area with 16.7 thousand hectare market garden crops, in the sowing area with 4.0 thousand hectare sugar beet, in the sowing area with 6.0 thousand hectare sunflower for grain and in the area with 857 hectare tobacco have been planted.
In live-stock sector of agriculture during four months of the current year meat production increased by 2.4% and reached to 148.0 thousand tons, milk production increased by 5.1% and became to 599.0 thousand tons, egg production increased by 3.9% and became to 515.8 million units and more than 3.1% or 2.8 thousand tons wool was shaved.
From plant-growing products 51.2 thousand tons or more than 9.8% vegetable and 6.9 thousand tons or more than 15.8% potato were produced.
Production of plant-growing products increased by 8.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2014, production of live-stock products 3.5%, total products of agriculture 3.7%.
Construction. During January – April, 2015 resources in amount of 4868.6 million manat or more than 3.5% compared to the corresponding period of last year were directed to construction activities. 3333.8 million manat or 68.5% of used allocation was spent to the construction of production facilities. 2821.5 million manat of funds directed to fixed assets was formed domestic funds. Allocations directly spent for the execution of construction-installation works increased by 9.9% compared to the same period of last year and formed 3771.3 million manat.
In the current year allocations in amount of 5654.7 million manat was allocated from the state budget by the purpose of carrying out construction works in the construction facilities advisable to continue and 962.5 million manat of that allocation were used during four months of the year.
By the account of funds allocated from different sources during January-April it was completed the construction of dwelling houses with 589.5 thousand square metre, ambulatory-polyclinic institutions which allows serve 135 persons, secondary schools with 3068 pupils place, pre-school institutions with 200 places, club and cultural centres with 280 places. As well as followings were given into use: in Baku city - “White city-1”, “Hazi Aslanov”, “Kurdakhani with 110 kV” and 7 electric power substations with 35 kV, Baku Olympic Stadium, Water Sport Palace, Shooting Centre, Baku Congress Centre, in Sumgayit city - Concrete Plant and “Alyans Tekstil” sewing factory, in Astara region - Degadi-Palikash highway, in Barda region - Mollaisalar-Valiushaghı-Mollaahmadli-Sarkarlar highway, in Gusar region - “Park Chalet Shahdag” hotel and others.
During January-April 68.6 million tons cargo and 584.9 million person passengers were transported by the natural entities and transport enterprises engaged in transport complex. In comparison with the corresponding period of 2014cargo transportation increased by 1.4%, conveyance of passengers 3.6%. Cargo transportation by automobile transport increased by 5.2%, by air transport 15.1% and conveyance of passengers by automobile transport also increased by 3.7%, by metro 3.0%, by air transport 3.8%.
Volume of rendered services to population, office and organization by information and communication enterprises in January-April increased by 10.6% compared to the corresponding period of last year and formed 514.3 million manat.
Consumer goods in amount of 7496.7 million manat were sold from retail trade network and paid services in amount of 2111.9 million manat were rendered by service enterprises. Compared to January-April, 2014 commodity turnover was increased by 9.6%, volume of paid services 5.3%; country residents bought food products, beverages and tobacco products in amount of 3753.4 million manat and non-food products in amount of 3743.3 million manat from retail trade network.
According to the data of State Customs Committee in the first quarter of 2015 trade operations in amount of 5812.1 million dollars were conducted with foreign countries by the natural and legal entities of the country. 58.2% or 3383.7 million dollars of commodity turnover was exported goods, 41.8% (2428.4 million dollars) imported goods and positive balance in amount of 955.3 million dollars was established. Volume of foreign trade turnover compared to the same period of 2014 increased by 24.7%, as well as export 20.8%, import 36.6%. 9.4% or 548.4 million dollars of commodity turnover carried out with CIS member countries, 46.4% or 2697.0 million dollars with EU countries, 44.2% (2566.7 million dollars) with other countries.
19.4% or 470.1 million dollars of imported goods to the country received from CIS member countries, 25.4% or 617.5 million dollars from EU countries, 55.2% (1340.8 million dollars) from other countries.
2.3% or 78.3 million dollars of exported goods was sent to CIS member countries, 61.5% or 2079.5 million dollars to EU countries, 36.2% (1225.9 million dollars) to other countries.
During the first quarter of the current year export of non-oil products compared to the corresponding period of the last year increased by 38.9% and formed 474.2 million dollars. From non-oil products export of agricultural goods increased by 53.5%, export of other industrial goods 61.3%.
In April compared to March prices and service tariffs of consumer goods decreased by 0.2% as well as, prices of non-food products 0.5%, service tariffs 0.9% and prices of food products increased by 0.5%. In January-April of the current year prices and service tariffs of consumer goods increased by 3.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2014 as well as, prices of food products 4.6%, prices of non-food products 2.6% and service tariffs 1.5%.
During January-March average monthly salary of employed increased by 3.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2014 and became to 449.5 manat.
During 4 months of 2015 income of country population increased by 5.7% and reached to 12.6 milliard manat. 74.4% of income was spent to final consumption, 9.8% to taxes, social insurance and membership dues and 13.7% to increasing of savings.
According to the data of the Ministry of Finance, in the first quarter of 2015 state budget received fund in amount of 3.9 milliard manat and means in amount of 4.2 milliard manat were spent from budget. Deficiency in amount of 251.0 million manat between income and expenses of budget was equal to 2.2% of GDP. 2.1 milliard manat of budget expenses was directed to development of economy, 522.1 million manat to social protection and social security, 387.6 million manat to education and health.
Credit in amount of 20.6 milliard manat equivalent was given to natural and legal entities by finance-credit organizations of the country until the 1 April, 2015. The volume of given credits increased by 29.8% compared to 1 April, 2014, its 77.8 % or 16.0 milliard manat was long-term. 1.2 milliard manat or 5.9% of credits payment was expired.
Compared to the same period of previous year amount of deposits of population in banks have been increased by 16.9% and reached to 7.8 milliard manat for the state of 1 April, 2015.
During April exchange rate of national currency for 1 US dollar was equal to 1.05 manat, 1 Euro 1.13 manat and 100 Russian rouble 1.99 manat, since the beginning of the year it was correspondingly was equal to 0.94 manat, 1.04 manat and 1.58 manat.
