Macro-economic indicators of economic and social development of the country in January-June, 2015

During January-June, 2015 Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in amount of 26.3 milliard manat or more than 5.7% compared to corresponding period of last year was produced by the enterprises and organizations and natural entities operating in the country. 36.0% of GDP was established in industry, 13.4% in in trade, in field of accommodation of tourists and catering sectors, 12.5% in construction complex, 5.8% in transport, 5.6% in agriculture, 1.9% in communication and 16.4 % in other fields. Net of tax to the product and import was formed 8.4% of GDP. Production of GDP on per capita was 2765.1 manat.
Value added in non-oil sector compared to the first half of 2014 increased by 9.2%. Growth by 14.1 % was observed in production output of non-oil sector on product of industry. Value added increased by 1.3% in oil-gas sector.
In January-June 2015 in amount of 13.3 milliard manat or more than 3.8% compared with the corresponding period of last year industrial products were produced by industrial enterprises and natural entities engaged in this field. Production output in mining sector increased by 2.1% as well as, output of marketable gas 10.9% and production of oil decreased by 1.2%.
63.3% of industry product was produced in mining sector, 28.7% in processing sector, 7.2% in distribution and supply on electricity, gas and steam, 0.8% in the sector of water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities.
Production of food products in processing sector increased by 3.7%, production of oil products 7.4%, chemical industry 2.2 times, production of rubber and plastic products 4.5%, production of construction materials 19.4%, metallurgical industry 21.9%, production of ready metal products and production of electrical equipment 2.0 times.
Production output in the sector of electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply has been increased by 5.1%.
Production output in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities increased by 6.3%.
In non-oil sector of industry production output has been increased by 0.7%.
99.2% of produced products were sent to consumers. However, for the state of 1July, 2015 considering the balance of the previous periods there were ready products in amount of 376.4 million manat in warehouses of industrial enterprises.
Spring field activities in the agrarian sector have been finished. Till the 24th of June of the current year sowing of spring plants were carried out in sowing area with 362.1 thousand hectare, as well as, in the sowing area with 28.8 thousand hectare - grain and grain legumes, in the sowing area with 36.4 thousand hectare – maize for grain, in the sowing area with 77.0 thousand hectare – vegetable, in the sowing area with 61.0 thousand hectare – potato, in the sowing area with 18.8 thousand hectare – cotton, in the sowing area with 27.9 thousand hectare – market garden crops, in the sowing area with 4.9 thousand hectare – sugar beet, in the area with 10.2 thousand hectare – sunflower for grain, in the sowing area with 1.4 thousand hectare – tobacco and others have been planted.
Sowing area of spring crops increased by 4.2 thousand hectare compared to the corresponding period of the last year, sowing area of grain and grain legumes 0.8 thousand hectare, sowing area of vegetable 1.1 thousand hectare, sowing area of tobacco 253 hectare, as well as, sowing area of cotton decreased by 4.1thousand hectare, sowing area of sunflower for seed 1.5 thousand hectare, sowing area of sugar beet 0.8 thousand hectare, sowing area of maize for seed 0.5 thousand hectare, sowing area of potato 0.7 thousand hectare, sowing area of market garden crops 169 hectare.
Along with conducting spring field works the agricultural workers had begun to collect the products of their own cultivation. Till the 4th of July including maize 2.1 million tons winter and spring grain and grain legumes harvest were gathered. More than 320.9 thousand tons harvest have been gathered compared to the corresponding period of the last year.
288.7 thousand tons potato, 382.9 thousand tons vegetable, 93.1 thousand tons fruit and berry, 37.4 thousand tons market garden crops, 76.5 tons tobacco, 273.4 tons green tea leaves have been gathered from fields.
In the last 6 months head number of livestock increased by 0.4% compared to the 1st January of the current year and reached to 2708.2 thousand head, number of sheep and goat increased by 1.9% and reached to 8807.6 thousand head. During the reporting period more than 2.0% or 225.1 thousand tons meat(in live weight), more than 3.7% or 963.7 thousand tons milk, more than 1.4% or 779.4 million units egg, more than 2.1% or 15.3 thousand tons wool were produced.
Compared to the first half of the last year production of plant-growing products increased by 14.0%, production of cattle breeding 2.6% and total production of all agricultural products 7.3%.
Construction. During January – June, 2015 resources in amount of 7925.6 million manat or more than 3.7% compared to the corresponding period of last year were directed to construction activities. 5096.2 million manat or 64.3% of used allocation was spent to the construction of production facilities. 4707.8 million manat of funds directed to fixed assets was formed domestic funds. Allocations directly spent for the execution of construction-installation works increased by 11.5% compared to the same period of 2014 and formed 5833.5 million manat.
By the account of funds allocated from different sources during January-June it was completed the construction of dwelling houses with 870.4 thousand square meter, ambulatory-polyclinic institutions which allows serve 180 persons, secondary schools with 4908 pupils place, pre-school institutions with 200 places, club and cultural centres with 280 places. As well as followings were given into use: in Baku city - “White city-1”, “Hazi Aslanov”, “Kurdakhani with 110 kV” and 7 electric power substations with 35 kV, Baku Olympic Stadium, Water Sport Palace, Shooting Centre, Velopark, European Games Park, Athletes and Media villages, Baku Congress Centre, “Qafqaz Baku Sport Hotel” hotel complex, “Boulevard Hotel”, “Dalga Beach-Aqua Park”, family recreation center, bridge connecting Baku ring road highway in the area of the International Bus Station and the road leading to the Shooting Complex, in Sumgayit city - Concrete Plant and “Alyans Tekstil” sewing factory, in Astara region - Degadi-Palikash highway, in Barda region - Mollaisalar-Valiushaghı-Mollaahmadli-Sarkarlar highway, in Gusar region - “Park Chalet Shahdag” hotel and others.
Since 2004 up today from starting of execution of the State Program on socio- economic development of regions 1424.5 thousand new as well as 1059.7 thousand permanent job places were established. Starting from 2014 related with the execution of third State Program 187.2 thousand new as well as 153.9 thousand permanent job places were opened. Number of new established job places in the country in the first quarter of 2015 was 59.9 thousand as well as number of permanent job places was 48.8 thousand.
During January-June 109.6 million tons cargo and 900.2 million person passengers were transported by the natural entities and transport enterprises engaged in transport complex. In comparison with the corresponding period of 2014 cargo transportation increased by 1.5%, conveyance of passengers 3.8%. Cargo transportation by air transport increased by 11.5%, conveyance of passengers by automobile transport also increased by 3.8%, by metro 3.7% and by air transport 1.8%.
During six months of current year in amount of 771.8 million manat services were rendered to population, enterprises and organizations by information and communication enterprises. Volume of information and communication services increased by 10.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2014, 72.5% of services were rendered to population and 80.0% of received income was share of non-state sector.
Consumer goods in amount of 11962.5 million manat were sold from retail trade network and paid services in amount of 3202.5 million manat were rendered by service enterprises. Compared to January-June, 2014 commodity turnover increased by 13.4% and volume of paid services 6.0%. Food, beverages and tobacco products in amount of 5924.9 million manat and non-food products in amount of 6037.6 million manat was sent to the country residents from retail trade network.
According to the data of State Customs Committee during January-May, 2015 trade operations in amount of 9350.0 million dollars were conducted with foreign countries by the natural and legal entities of the country. 56.5% or 5282.2 million dollars of commodity turnover was exported goods, 43.5% (4067.8 million dollars) imported goods and positive balance in amount of 1214.4 million dollars was established. Volume of foreign trade turnover compared to the same period of 2014 increased by 5.3%, as well as export 2.3%, import 14.9%. 11.3% or 1053.8 million dollars of commodity turnover carried out with CIS member countries, 47.6% or 4446.1 million dollars with EU countries, 41.1% (3850.1 million dollars) with other countries.
21.7% or 882.8 million dollars of imported goods was share of CIS member countries, 28.1% or 1142.5 million dollars from EU countries, 50.2% (2042.5 million dollars) from other countries.
3.2% or 171.0 million dollars of exported goods was sent to CIS member countries, 62.5% or 3303.6 million dollars to EU countries, 34.3% (1807.6 million dollars) to other countries.
In January-May export of non-oil products compared to the corresponding period of the last year increased by 24.4% and formed 732.1 million dollars.
From non-oil products export of agricultural goods was increased by 5.1% and export of industrial goods 27.1%.
In June compared to May prices and service tariffs of consumer goods decreased by 1.1% as well as, prices of food products 2.7% and prices of non-food products remained at the same level as the previous month.
In January-June of the current year prices and service tariffs of consumer goods increased by 3.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2014 as well as, prices of food products 5.5%, prices of non-food products 2.8% and service tariffs 1.3%.
During January-May average monthly salary of employed increased by 3.8% compared to the corresponding period of 2014 and became to 454.8 manat.
In the first half of 2015 income of country population increased by 6.2% and reached to 19.8 milliard manat. 74.2% of income was spent to final consumption, 9.4% to taxes, social insurance and membership dues and 14.0% to increasing of savings, 2.4% for payment of credit interests.
According to the data of the Ministry of Finance, in January-May, 2015 state budget received fund in amount of 6.4 milliard manat and means in amount of 7.3 milliard manat were spent from budget, budget deficit in amount of 905.8 million manat established in execution of budget was equal to 4.2% of gross domestic products. 3.7 milliard manat of budget expenses was directed to the development of economy, 817.0 million manat to social protection and social security and 753.0 million manat to education and health.
Credit in amount of 20.5 milliard manat equivalent was given to natural and legal entities by finance-credit organizations of the country till the 1st June of 2015. The volume of given credits increased by 23.3% compared to the 1st of June, 2014, its 77.9 % or 16.0 milliard manat was long-term. 1.3 milliard manat or 6.4% of credits payment was expired.
Compared to the same period of previous year amount of deposits of population in banks have been increased by 14.4% and reached to 7.6 milliard manat for the state of 1st June, 2015.
During June exchange rate of national currency for 1 US dollar was equal to 1.05 manat, 1 Euro 1.18 manat and 100 Russian rouble 1.92 manat, since the beginning of the year it was correspondingly was equal to 0.97 manat, 1.08 manat and 1.72 manat.
