During January-June, 2015 number of persons passed the boundary check points of the Republic of Azerbaijan was 5761.2 thousand person. 66.3% of them were citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 10.4% Russian Federation, 10.1% Georgia, 5.2% Turkey, 2.5% Iran, 0.9% Ukraine, 0.7% United Kingdom, 0.4% Kazakhstan, 0.3% Uzbekistan, 0.3% Germany, 0.2% United States of America, 0.2% Italy, 0.2% Belarus and 2.3% other countries.
During first six months of the current year number of foreigners arrived to the country was 973.5 thousand person. 310.7 thousand person of them were the citizens of Russian Federation, 283.4 thousand person Georgia, 148.2 thousand person Turkey, 72.8 thousand person Iran, 27.2 thousand person Ukraine, 19.4 thousand person United Kingdom, 12.5 thousand person Kazakhstan, 7.8 thousand person Germany, 6.5 thousand person United States of America, and 85.0 thousand person other countries. During this period share of citizens from Russia, Georgia, Turkey and Iran was more than the total number of foreign citizens arrived to the country and it was correspondingly formed 31.9%, 29.1%, 15.2% and 7.5%.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2014 growth was mainly observed in the number of citizens arrived from Slovakia, Portugal, Greek, Luxembourg, Serbia, Slovenia, Finland, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic, Spain, Ireland, Australia, Romania, Netherlands, Belarus, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, France. Decreasing was observed in the number of citizens from USA, Russia, Georgia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Hungary and China.
In the first half of 2015 number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan departed to foreign countries was 1919.2 thousand person.
