For the state of 1st of January, 2016 number of employees engaged in the country economy were 1495.8 thousand person and 877.4 thousand of them were the employees of the public sector and 618.4 thousand person were the employees of the private sector.
22.6 % of employees were engaged in education, 19.0 % in trade, in the repair of transport means, 12.1% in industry, 8.9 % in health and social services, 6.2% in construction, 4.9% in transport and warehouse, 3.9% in professional, scientific and technical activity 3.0% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 1.7 % in information and communication and 17.7% in other fields of economy.
In January-December, 2015 average monthly nominal salary of employees engaged in the country economy compared to the corresponding period of the previous year increased by 5.0% and became to 466.4 AZN. Compared to other types of activities average monthly salary in the mining industry, finance and insurance activity, information and communication, professional, scientific and technical activity as well as in the construction fields was higher.
