Traffic accidents occurred on the highways in 2015

2220 traffic accidents were occurred on the highways of the country and at the result of these incidents 3159 persons suffered in 2015. In comparison with 2014 number of accidents decreased by 15.7% and number of sufferers by 16.9%. 2265 persons of sufferers got different grade body injuries and 894 persons died.
Main part of the crashes (1934) were happened at settlements, as the result 2710 persons suffered, 587 of them died, 2123 persons were injured. In comparison with 2014 number of deaths decreased by 25.7% and number of injured by 13.6%.
41.6% of overall road traffic accidents happened with participation of transport means and pedestrians, 22.5% with participation of one transport mean, 35.9% with participation of several transport means and in comparison with 2014 number of accidents correspondingly decreased by 6.6%, 23.6% and 19.7%.
43.4% of traffic accidents happened in the daytime, 38.0% at night time and 18.6% during twilight. 30.2% of accidents have coincided on Saturdays and Sundays. Because of drink drivers during the year 55 accidents resulted with death or injuries, as the re
sult 97 persons were suffered. 92.7% of such accidents have been committed by passenger car drivers.
During this period 2.5 million or in comparison with 2014 more than 7.5% administrative violation of traffic rules was detected. 32.3% violations of traffic rules were detected by exceeding the speed on the road, 17.4% by parking regulation, 8.1% by driving without seat belt, 6.0% by crossroad, 5.4% violations by pedestrians and other participants of traffic, 4.5% by disobedience the requirements of road signs and the rest by other reasons. For violation of the rules has been paid 88.5 million manat.
