Macro-economic indicators of economic and social development of the country on January-February, 2016

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for 7888.7 million manat have been produced by the enterprises and organizations and natural entities operating in the country and it was less than 3.2% in comparison with corresponding period of previous year. The main reason of this was decrease in producing of product and services in construction and transport sector. 38.1% of value added produced in industry, 13.0% in trade; maintenance of transport means, 8.7% in construction, 7.2% in transport and warehouse, 3.6% in accommodation of tourists and public catering, 3.1% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 2.1% in information and communication and 13.6% in other fields. Net of tax to the product and import made up 10.6% of GDP. Volume of GDP on per capita was equal to 822.3 manat.
Industrial products for 4308.9 million manat or less than 0.1% compared with the corresponding period of the last year were produced by industrial enterprises and natural entities on January-February, 2016. The main reason of this was decrease in crude oil production by 1.4%, gas production by 8.3% and electricity production by 6.4%, as well as variety of processing industry production.
61.7% of industry product was produced in mining sector, 29.4% in processing sector, 8.0% in distribution and supply on electricity, gas and steam, 0.9% in the sector of water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities.
Production output in mining sector decreased by 0.8%.
Production of food products in processing sector increased by 2.0%, tobacco products by 80.4%, textile industry products by 3.1 times, cloth production by 23.5%, metallurgical products by 50.8%, production of ready metal products by 93.7%, computer, electron and optic products by 67.6%, automobile, trailer and semi-trailers by 19.6%, installation and maintenance activities of machine and equipment by 2.5 times and production of beverage decreased by 18.7%, wood working and production of products from wood by 15.1%, production of printing products by 2.2%, chemical industrial products 13.7%, rubber and plastic products by 50.5%, construction materials by 48.5%, electric equipment by 44.3%, machine and equipment by 31.7% and production of furniture by 3.9%.
Production volume in the sector of electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply has been decreased by 5.1% and in production output in water supply, sewerage and waste management and remediation activities it was increased by 3.5%.
Production output in non-oil sector of industry increased by 4.5% and it was decreased by 0.7% in oil sector.
The bulk of produced products were sent to consumers, for the state of 1 March, 2016 considering the balance of the previous periods there were ready products in amount of 335.5 million manat in warehouses of industrial enterprises.
It was started sowing of plant-growing in agriculture. Until the 1 March in the area of 50.8 thousand hectare spring sowings were planted, as well as, in the area with 2.6 thousand hectare grain and grain-crops, in the area with 10.4 thousand hectare potato, in the area with 7.5 thousand hectare vegetable, in the area with 0.1 thousand hectare sugar beet, in the area with 30.1 thousand perennial grasses, in the area with 0.1 thousand hectare other crops.
73.4 thousand tons meat in live weight, 290.1 thousand tons milk, 270.9 million unit eggs and 4.2 thousand tons vegetable were produced on January-February, 2016. Compared to corresponding period of previous year production of meat increased by 1.5%, milk 3.8%, egg 4.7% and vegetable 6.1%.
Overall products of agriculture increased by 2.6%, as well as, crop production by 4.5% and livestock production by 2.6%.
Allocation for 1834.9 million manat was directed to fixed assets in January-February 2016. 1591.6 million manat or 86.7% of used allocation was spent to the construction of production facilities, 142.0 million manat (7.8%) to the facilities on service fields, 101.3 million manat (5.5%) to the construction of dwelling houses with total area 269.5 thousand square meter. 593.8 million manat or 32.4% of allocations directed to fixed assets made up domestic investments. 1331.8 million manat or 72.6% of allocations directed to fixed capital was spent for the execution of construction-installation works.
31.1 million tons cargo and 287.8 million person passengers were transported by natural entities and enterprises engaged in transport and warehouse sector in January-February, 2016. In comparison with the corresponding period of 2015 cargo transportation decreased by 5.3% and passenger transportation increased by 1.4%. Backwardness observed in cargo transportation was related with decreases in railway, sea and pipeline transport.
57.9% of cargos were transported by automobile, 3.5% by pipeline transport, 6.9% by railway, 2.7% by sea transport.
88.0% of passengers were transported by automobile, 11.8 % by metro and others with other types of transport.
Services for 251.6 million manat were rendered to legal and natural entities by information and communication enterprises and its 71.5% was per share of population sector. In comparison with corresponding period of 2015 volume of information and communication services increased by 7.7% in January-February, 2016, 80.3% of income received from this field was share of non-state sector.
Product for 4258.2 million manat was sold to population by retail trade network and paid services for 1145.9 million manat were rendered by service enterprises in January-February, 2016. Compared to corresponding period of previous year commodity turnover increased by 4.2% and volume of paid services 2.3%, food products, beverages and tobacco products in amount of 2150.0 million manat and non-food products in amount of 2108.2 million manat were sold in trade network.
According to the data of State Customs Committee in January, 2016 2015 volume of foreign trade turnover of the country made up 1099.9 million US dollars. 657.1 million dollars or 59.7% of commodity turnover made up exported products, 442.8 million dollars (40.3%) imported products and positive balance in amount of 214.3 million dollars has been established as a result of prevail by export into import. Compared to the same period of 2015 volume of foreign trade turnover decreased by 25.3%, as well as export by 26.3% and import by 23.3%. 10.2% of trade turnover was share of CIS member countries, 50.4% EU countries and 39.4% other countries.
20.0% volume of imported goods was share of CIS member countries, 32.6% of EU countries, 47.4% of other countries.
3.6% of exported goods were sent to CIS member countries, 62.3% to EU countries, 34.1% to other countries.
In comparison with the same period of 2015 export of non-oil products decreased by 47.0% and made up 60.7 million dollars in January, 2016. Compared to the corresponding period of 2015 prices of consumer goods and services increased by 11.7%, as well as, prices of food products 14.8%, prices of non-food products 15.7% and prices of paid services to population 4.0%.
Average monthly nominal salary of employees compared to January, 2015 increased by 8.0% and it made up 480.1 manat in 2015.
Nominal income of population compared to the corresponding month of previous year increased by 10.2% and reached to 6459.3 million manat in January-February, 2016. 81.0 % of income was spent to final consumption, 10.7% to taxes, social insurance and membership dues and 2.4% for payment of credit interests and 5.9% deposits.
According to the data of the Ministry of Finance state budget received fund in amount of 1349.6 million manat and means in amount of 516.4 million manat were spent from budget in January, 2016, budget deficit in amount of 833.2 million manat was in the level of 20.8% of gross domestic products.
According to the data of Central Bank for the February 1, 2016 credit portfolio equivalent in national currency made up 21186.2 million manat, its 16165.2 million manat was long-term credits. Portfolio of credits increased by 14.0% compared to February 1, 2015. Amount of overdue loans made up 6.2% of total credit portfolio.
Amount of deposits of population in banks made up 8643.3 million manat by equivalent in national currency for the state of February 1, 2016.
Average exchange rate of national currency for 1 US dollar was equal to 1.57 manat (from the beginning of the year 1.58 manat), 1 Euro 1.75 manat.
In January, 2016 number of the population increased by 0.1% or 7.9 thousand person and reached to 9713.5 thousand person for the state of for the state of February 1, 2016.
