Demographic situation in Azerbaijan

From the beginning of the year number of population of the Republic of Azerbaijan increasing by 0.2% or 17.9 thousand person became to 9723.5 thousand person for the state of the 1st March, 2016. 53.1% of population are urban and 46.9% rural inhabitants, 49.8% of population made up men, 50.2% women. On average there are 1000 men per 1007 women.
In the recent years the birth rate remains at a high level. During two months of the current year number of births was 17.7 thousand persons more than the number of deaths. 27.6 thousand or on average every day 460 newborns registered by the region (city) Registration Departments of Ministry of Justice and this indicator made up 17.5 of per 1000 person of population. 53.2% of newborns were boys and 46.8% girls. 496 of infants were twins, 9 triplets.
On average 2.1 child is per share of reproductive women in the country and that provides reproduction of population.
9.9 thousand deaths were registered in the country and per 1000 person number of deaths made up 6.3 during January-February, 2016 year.
In the first two months of the current year 9.0 thousand marriages and 2.1 thousand divorces were registered by the Registration Departments of the country and per 1000 person this indicator correspondingly was 5.7 and 1.3.
During January-February, 2016 Ministry of Internal Affairs and State Migration Service registered 445 person arrivals to Azerbaijan for permanent residence and 238 person departures from the country and migration positive balance made up 207 person.
