The meeting of the Statistical Council under the State Statistical Committee was held.
The State Statistical Committee was awarded an international certificate of compliance on Quality Management System İSO 9001:2015.
The next meeting of the Statistical Council under the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in April 28.
The first issue submitted to the meeting was on the results of the audit about Quality Management System İSO 9001:2015 held in the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Chairman of the State Statistical Committee greeted members of the Council and participants of the meeting. He mentioned that, assessment of effectiveness of reforms held in the country headed by President Ilham Aliyev, increased demand for reliable statistics. Thus, the most important task stands in front of the statistical agencies is to serve for the policy defined by the state in the field of statistics; justify high confidence; increase the trust of the society and users on statistics; achieve more modern forms of mutual cooperation with them. In this regard, verification of the compliance of activity of the State Statistical Committee in the field of production and dissemination of the official statistical data to the requirements of the international certificate of compliance on Quality Management System İSO 9001:2015 has special importance. It was mentioned by the Chairman of the Committee that, preliminary in November 2016, final audit was held in the State Statistical Committee by the representative office of the “SGS” Swiss company in Azerbaijan that is one of the world leaders in the field of certification on it. Compliance of the works done regarding the implementation and execution of the documents approved on management of the production and dissemination processes of official statistical data by the group of auditors in the statistical offices to the requirements of the standard of Quality Management System İSO 9001:2015 was verified. Audit verification was held in the departments of the State Statistical Committee and 13 local statistical agencies (Baku, Ganja, Sumgait, Mingachevir, Lankaran cities, Barda, Agdam, Agstafa, Balakan, Qakh, Saatli, Samukh and Zagatala regions) that quality management system was implemented.
Certification and Accreditation manager of the local representative office of the “SGS” company Nigar Mahmudova and auditor Asif Amirsultanov provided data about implementation of the Quality Management System İSO 9001:2015 and certification in the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was mentioned that, activities conducted in the State Statistical Committee are fully compatible with the standards adopted in this field and according to the results of the audit, the State Statistical Committee was awarded an international certificate of compliance on Quality Management System İSO 9001:2015 in the field of “Production and dissemination of the official statistical data”.
In was emphasized in the meeting that, the State Statistical Committee is the first central executive authority awarded an international certificate of compliance of the Quality Management System İSO 9001:2015 in Azerbaijan, as well as the first statistical agency got the certificate among CIS countries.
Later, international certificates of compliance of the Quality Management System İSO 9001:2015 were submitted to the management of the State Statistical Committee, heads of city and regional statistical offices.
The meeting of the Statistical Council was finalized by the discussion of the project “The State Program on Improvement of the Official Statistics in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2018-2025” and statistical indicators defined on the national priorities regarding “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”
