Foreign trade relations
On January-November 2017 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 183 countries of the world; goods were exported to 114 countries and imported from 176 countries.
Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover on January- November 2017 made 21809.4 million USD, including export value – 14018.7 million USD, import value – 7790.7 million USD and consequently positive trade balance reached to 6228.0 million USD. In comparison with January-November 2016 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price 11.6%, real terms by 10.9%, export – 6.5% and import – 17.6% decreased.
According to the State Customs Committee, 31.4% of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 4.5% - Turkey, 4.5% - Israel, 4.2% - Russia, 3.9% - Canada, 3.8% - Czech Republic, 3.6% - Germany, 3.5% - China, 3.4% - Georgia, 3.2% - Indonesia, 3.0% - Portugal, 2.9% - India, 2.7% - France, 2.4% - Ukraine, and the rest 17.0% - other countries.
17.5% of value of imported goods was per the share of Russia, 14.7% - Turkey, 9.8% - China, 8.7% - USA, 5.2% - Ukraine, 4.9% - Germany, 3.6% - Italy, per 2.7%- Iran and United Kingdom, 2.2% - Brazil, 1.9% - Japan, per 1.7% - Norway and France, 22.7% - other countries.
On January-November 2017 non-oil products in amount of 1386.7 million US dollars have been exported and that is more in real terms for 21.8% and actual price for 24.1% relatively to January-November 2016.
On January-November 2017 compared to the same months of 2016 export of main types of products like fresh fruits – 22.0%, fresh vegetable – 83.8%, potato – 50.7%, tobacco – 2.0 times, tea – 52.1%, vegetable oils – 0.1%, fruit and vegetable juice – 64.6%, natural grape wine and cellar – 97.6%, fruit and vegetable cans –5.1%, cotton fibre – 6.3 times, bentonite clay – 3.2 times, sugar export – 42.1%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 4.1%, polyethylene – 13.5%, unprocessed aluminum – 27.1%, ferrous metal pipes – 3.6%, semifinished ferrous metals – 44.0%, cotton yarn – 22.8% decreased.
On January-November 2017 compared to January- November 2016 import of fresh fruit increased by 2.5%, tea – 4.7%, poultry meat and its additional products – 2.2%, beef – 92.1%, pipes – 9.9%, steel rolling – 9.0%, motor cars – 2.0%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 52.6%, rubber tyres – 31.5%, ferrous metal rods – 11.4%, mineral fertilizers – 19.6%, ferrous metal corners – 23.1%, washing machine – 67.5%, domestic air conditioners – 23.5%, , trucks – 2.2%, furniture – 2.1 times, busses – 2.1times; decreased of wheat import 22.2%, raw sugar and sugar – 2.6%, vegetable oil – 4.4%, butter, other milk fats and pastas – 7.4%, potato – 10.7%, fresh vegetable – 43.7%, ferrous metal – 47.4%, polyethylene – 8.7%, cement and cement clinker – 9.5%, domestic refrigerator – 16.4%.
