Foreign trade relations
On January-February 2018 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 140 countries of the world; goods were exported to 86 countries and imported from 131 countries.
Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover on January-February 2018 made 4439.0 million USD, including export value – 2987.5 million USD, import value – 1415.5 million USD and consequently positive trade balance reached to 1536.0 million USD. In comparison with January-February 2017 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 31.3%, in real terms it decreased by 5.8%, including export - by 5.5% and import – 6.6%.
According to the State Customs Committee data, 26.5% of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 10.3% - Israel, 8.4% - Germany, 6.2% - Canada, 6.1% - Indonesia, 5.7% - Czech Republic, 4.2% - Turkey, per 3.8% - Russia and Austria, 3.5% - Greece, 3.4% - India, 3.2% - USA, 2.6% - Georgia, 2.3% - Ukraine and the rest 10.0% - other countries.
16.8% of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of import transactions with Russia, 13.5% - Turkey, 9.5% - China, 8.8% - Germany, 5.5% - USA, 4.9% - Belarus, 3.8% - Ukraine, per 3.0%- Czech Republic and Italy, 2.7% - Iran, 2.2% - Kazakhstan, 26.3% - other countries.
On January-February 2018 non-oil products in amount of 241.7 million USD have been exported and that is more in actual prices for 37.3% and in real terms for 35.8% relatively to January-February 2017.
On January-February 2018 compared to the same period of 2017 export of main types of products like fresh fruits increased by 70.2%, fresh vegetable – 14.2%, tobacco – 25.1%, sugar – 2.4%, fruit and vegetable juice – 23.5%, tea – 6.6%, fruit and vegetable cans – 10.9%, natural grape wine and cellar – 95.0%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 2.1%, potato – 8.9 times, polyethylene – 15.4%,ferrous metal pipes– 1.8%, cotton yarn – 36.2%, while export of vegetable oils – 41.4%, unprocessed aluminum – 23.5%, cotton fibre – 39.1%, bentonite clay – 22.4%, semifinished ferrous metals decreased by 65.8%.
On January-February 2018 compared to January-February 2017 import of wheat increased by 70.9%, vegetable oil – 48.9%, fresh fruit - 54.5%, tea – 39.6%, beef – 31.4%, poultry meat and its additional products – 50.0%, ferrous metal pipes – 2.2 times, motor cars – 2.2 times, mineral fertilizers – 75.3%, ferrous metal rods – 85.5%, furniture – 24.8%, rubber tyres – 21.4%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 58.8%, polyethylene – 82.4%, ferrous metal corners – 10.8%, washing machine – 61.0%, trucks – 30.9%, domestic air conditioners – 32.6%, cement and cement clinkers – 3.0 times, domestic refrigerators – 3.2 times, buses – 2.2 times, while import of butter, other milk fats and pastas decreased by 29.2%, raw sugar and sugar – 70.5%, potato – 18.8%, fresh vegetable – 54.3%, steel rolling – 4.6%, cigarettes – 20.9%.
