Changes in prices of consumer market
Prices of consumer goods and services in January-May 2018 compared to corresponding period of 2017 increased by 3.2%, including food products 3.2%, non-food products 3.9%, paid services provided to population 2.6%.
In May of the current year compared to April prices of food products decreased by 1.3%, prices of paid services provided to population increased by 1.6% while prices of non-food products stayed stable. In general, prices if consumer goods and services stayed stable compared to previous month.
During the month prices of flour, porridge and buckwheat, pasta products, beef and sheep meat, egg, margarine and corn oil, banana, strawberry, tomato, cucumber, garlic, onion, potato, sugar and sugar powder, chocolate products decreased while the prices of chicken meat, olive and butter, apple, carrot, greens, tea and coffee increased. No significant changes had been observed in prices of other food products.
In May, compared to April, there had been observed increase in prices of paid services provided to population such as repairing of clothes and footwear, renting of flats, dental services, repair of motor vehicles, international passenger services by railway transport, recreational tours inside the country, catering services by cafes; increase in prices of passenger services by railway transport inside the country, international passenger services by air transport, recreational tours outside the country.
