Hotel and hotel-type enterprises activities
In January-September 2018, 2446,8 thousand nights were spent on hotels, which is 24.4 percent more than the same period of last year. 57.8% of the nights in hotels were registered in Baku, 10.6% in Gabala, 6.6% in Khachmaz, per 3.9% in Naftalan and in Guba, 3.8% in Gusar, 2.7% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1.1% in Gakh, per 0.8% in Ganja and Lankaran and 8.0% in other districts (cities).
The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons amounted to 1651.7 thousand, representing 67.5% of total nights which is 31.3% more than the same period of last year. 13.3% of the nights were citizens of the United Arab Emirates, 11.4% - Russian citizens, 9.9% - Saudi Arabia, 5.2% - Iranian citizens, 4.0% - Turkish citizens, 3.8% - Israel citizens, 3.6% - India, 3.3% - citizens of Kuwait, per 2.7% - citizens of Great Britain and Iraq, 2.6% - USA citizens, 2.5% - Qatar citizens, 2.2% - Pakistan, 1.5% - Kazakhstan, 1.4% - Oman citizens, 1.2% - German, 1.1% - Bahrain, 1.0% - Ukrainian citizens, 26.6% - citizens of other countries.
The number of nights spent by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan increased by 12.0% compared to the same period of last year and amounted to 795.1 thousand nights.
In the nine months of current year, hotels' revenues amounted to 286.1 million manat, of which 68.1% were services for the provision of rooms, 23.4% of the services on the sale of food products, including beverages, 3.0% for treatment and health services, and 5.5% from other services.
The average level of use of the number of hotels in the country was 21.9%. This indicator was lower 62.0% in Naftalan, 36.7% in Agstapha, 35.3% in Gabala, 30.5% in Baku, 24.7% in Zardab, 24.3% in Guba, 23.1% in Shamkir, 22.4% in Shirvan while in other cities and regions it was below average.
The average level of use of the number of hotels was the highest in August – 35.1%. This indicator was 32.3% in July and 23.2% in September.
