Changes in prices of consumer market
Prices of consumer goods and services in January-October 2018 compared to the corresponding period of 2017 increased by 2.4%, including food products 2.1%, non-food products 2.8%, paid services provided to population 2.6%.
In October of the current year compared to September prices of consumer goods and services increased by 0.2%, including food products and non-food products 0.2% and paid services provided to population 0.1%.
During the month prices of flour, pasta products, beef, sheep and chicken meat, sausage products, fish products, milk products, cheese and egg, margarine and olive oil, banana, tomato, eggplant, carrot, beet, potato, coffee, tea and cacao, tobacco products and beverage increased while the prices of manna and buckwheat, lemon, tangerine, apple, pear, quince, pomegranate, date, green, cucumber, blue beans, cabbage, garlic, onion decreased. No significant changes had been observed in prices of other food products.
During the month prices of non-food products such as textile, clothes, shoes, construction materials, small electrical appliances, spare parts for passenger cars, personal and tablet PC’s, stationery prices increased while the prices of washing machines, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, mobile phones, cameras decreased. No significant changes had been observed in prices of other non-food products.
In October, compared to September, there had been observed increase in prices of paid services provided to population such as passenger transportation to other countries except CIS countries, repairing cars, prices of barbershop and cosmetology services, renting apartments, education fees at computer courses; decrease in prices of passenger transportation services to CIS countries by railway and air transport. No significant changes had been observed in prices of other paid services.
