Changes in prices of consumer market
Prices of consumer goods and services in January-February of 2019 compared to the same period of 2018 increased by 1.9%, including food products, beverage and tobacco products 1.0%, non-food products 1.2%, paid services provided to population 3.5%.
In February of 2019 compared to January prices of consumer goods and services increased by 0.6%, including food products, beverage and tobacco products 1.1%, non-food products 0.1% and paid services provided to population 0.2%.
During the month increasing in prices of rice, flour, semolina, macaroni products, mutton and chicken meat, sausage products, fish products, milk products and cheese, vegetable oils, lemon, tangerine, orange, banana, apple, pear, quince, pomegranate, kiwi, cabbage, greens, cucumber, tomato, pepper, egg-plant, potato, onion, garlic, sugar and sugar powder, coffee, tea and cacao, tobacco products, alcohol drinks and decreasing in prices of buckwheat, egg, butter, carrot, beet were observed. No significant changes were observed in prices of other food products.
During the month increasing in prices of non-food products such as shoes, carpet and other floor coverings, furniture and home goods, bicycles, mobile phones, TV sets, jewellery, stationary, cut wood boards, cement, brick, nitro, water colour and oil paint, and decreasing in prices of clothes, fridges, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, notebook and tablet computers were observed. No significant changes had been observed in prices of other non-food products.
In February compared to January there was rise in prices of paid services provided to population – renting apartments, cleaning, repairing and renting of clothes, repair of cars, medical and dental services, vacation tours inside the country and reducing in prices of vacation tours out of the country, passenger transportation to CIS countries by air and railway transport. No significant changes were observed in prices of other paid services.
