Changes in prices of consumer market
Prices of consumer goods and services in January-May of 2019 compared to the same period of 2018 increased by 2.4%, including food products, beverage and tobacco products 2.3%, non-food products 1.3%, paid services provided to population 3.4%.
In May of 2019 compared to April prices of consumer goods and services decreased by 0.4%, including food products, beverage and tobacco products 1.1%, paid services provided to population increased by 0.1% while prices of non-food products remained the same.
During the month decreasing in prices of long rice, buckwheat, beef, sheep and chicken meat, boiled sausage, sausage, fresh fish, nonpasteurized skimmed milk, yoghurt, brined cheese, butter, banana, plum, strawberry, nut, hazel-nut, cabbage, greens, cucumber, tomato, pepper, egg-plant, onion, garlic, potato, dried peas, lentil, tea, vodka, beer and tobacco products and increasing in prices of round rice, semolina, macaroni products, sterilized skimmed milk, sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, solid and soft cheese with rumen yeast, cottage cheese, egg, sunflower, corn and olive oils, lemon, apple, pear, chestnut, beet, carrot, sugar, ice-cream, coffee, cacao, water, cola and lemonade were observed. No significant changes were observed in prices of other food products.
In May compared to April there was rise in prices of paid services provided to population – renting apartments, repairing, cleaning and renting of clothes, repair of domestic appliances, dentistry, barbers and cosmetology services, hotel services, international passenger transportation services by railway transport and air transport. No significant changes were observed in prices of other paid services.
