Changes in prices of consumer market
Prices of consumer goods and services in January-August of 2019 compared to the same period of 2018 increased by 2.6%, including food products, beverage and tobacco products 3.3%, non-food products 1.3%, paid services provided to population 2.7%.
In August of 2019 compared to July prices of consumer goods and services decreased by 0.3%, including food products, beverage and tobacco products 0.8%, paid services provided to population increased by 0.1% while prices of non-food products remained the same.
During the month decreasing in prices of nonpasteurized skimmed milk, corn oil, lemon, banana, apple, pear, plum, peach, watermelon and melon, grape, cabbage, cucumber, tomato, pepper, egg-plant, green bean, beet, carrot, garlic, onion, potato, dried peas, lentil, vodka, energy drinks and increasing in prices of rice, flour, semolina and buckwheat, macaroni products, beef, sheep and chicken meat, sterilized skimmed milk, sweetened condensed milk, yoghurt, sour cream, cheese, cottage cheese, egg, table margarine, olive and sunflower oil, dried bean, sugar and sugar powder, natural honey, ice-cream, tea, water, cola, lemonade, fruit juice and beer were observed. No significant changes were observed in prices of other food products.
In August compared to July there was rise in prices of paid services provided to population – renting apartments, repairing, cleaning and renting of clothes, medical and dental services, hotel services, passenger transportation services by railway transport and air transport to CIS countries and reduce in price of international passenger transportation services by air transport to other countries except CIS countries. No significant changes were observed in prices of other paid services.
