From the beginning of the year number of population of the country increased by 38118 persons or  0,4% and became to 10019575 persons for the state of the 1st July 2019. 52,8 percent of the population is urban, 47,2 percent is rural residents, 49,9 percent is male and 50,1 percent is female. At present, there are 1003 women per 1000 men. The population per square kilometer is 116 persons.

66687 newborns by country in current year were registered by the region (city) Registration Departments of Ministry of Justice and per 1,000 person of population, this indicator remained at the same level (13.6)  compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 53,4 percent of newborns were boys, 46,6 percent were girls.1478 of infants were twins, 36 triplets.

28745 deaths were registered in the country on January-June 2019 and the number of deaths decreased from 6,0 to 5,9 percent per 1000 person compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

In the six months of the current year 29391 marriages and 8257 divorces were registered and the number of marriages increased from 5,7 to 6,0 and divorces increased from 1,5 to 1,7 per 1000 person compared to the corresponding period of the previous year .

On January-June of current year the relevant authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Migration Service registered 911 person arrivals to Azerbaijan for permanent residence and 735 person departures from the country and migration positive balance made up 176 person.
