Representative of the Statistical Committee participates in an event in Geneva

United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, in cooperation with Eurostat and the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development is organizing meeting of the Group of Experts on Business registers on 30 September-2 October 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland. Mr Gasim Aliyev, Head of the Department of Statistical Works Coordination and Strategic Planning of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan is attending the event.

The objective of the Expert Group meeting is to discuss the development of statistical business registers, share best practices on ensuring their activities, at the same time to improve the quality of statistical business registers for production of economic statistics through international cooperation and integration of data from different sources.

The role of the statistical business registers in countries in the integration of statistical production, the use of administrative data sources, big data and other new data sources, web portals for business respondents, the production of business demography and entrepreneurship statistics by the use of statistical business registers and other topics were discussed during the meeting.
