The number of nights spent on hotels in the country in January March 2021 decreased by 36.9 percent compared with the corresponding period of 2020 and amounted to 299.5 thousand. 48.5% of the nights in hotels were registered in Baku, 11.2% in Gusar, 10.6% in Gabala, 5.4% in Guba, per 4.7% in Lankaran and Shabran, 3.2% in Naftalan, 2.2% in Mingachevir, 2.1% in Shamakhi, 0.7% in Ganja, per 0.6% in Masalli and Zagatala, 0.5% in Gakh and 5.0% in other districts (cities).

The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons decreased by 5.9 times compared with the corresponding period of 2020 and amounted to 53.3 thousand, representing 17.8% of total nights. 13.3% of the nights were Turkish citizens, 13.2% - Great Britain, 11.4% - citizens of the Russian Federation, 5.6% - Germany, 4.6% - Italy, 3.2% - USA, 2.0% - Ukraine, 2.0% - the Netherlands, 1.9% - Belarus, 1.9% - Israel citizens, 1.4% - Norway, 1.2% - Kazakhstan, 1.0% - India, 1.0% - Poland, 36.3% - citizens of other countries. It should be noted that from April 2020 to March 2021, foreigners and stateless persons visited our country mainly for non-tourism purposes.  

79.1% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 12.8% in Gusar, 2.8% in Gabala, 1.9% in Mingachevir, 1.3% in Shabran, 0.9% in Naftalan, 0.6% in Guba, 0.6% in other districts and cities. The number of nights spent by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan amounted to 246.2 thousand which is 54.2% more compared to January-March 2020.

In January-March 2021, hotels' revenues decreased by 43.1 percent compared with the corresponding period of 2020 and amounted to 34.1 million manats, 58.4% of which were services for the provision of rooms, 30.7% for catering services, 2.6% for treatment and health services, and 8.3% from other services.

In January-March 2021, the average level of use of the number of hotels in the country was 7.8% (12.2% in January-March 2020). This indicator was 45.1% in Shabran, 21.1% in Beylagan, 19.4% in Gusar, 16.8% in Naftalan, 14.8% in Gabala, 14.7% in Lankaran, 13.8% in Guba, 11.0% in Shamkir, 10.6% in Mingachevir, 10.3% in Barda, 9.8% in Shamakhi, 9.6% in Baku, 9.0% in Aghjabadi, 8.3% in Jalilabad, while in other cities and regions it was below average.
