Joint Work Plan between the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and UNICEF has been signed
On June 8, a ceremony of signing a Joint Work Plan for the period of 2021-2022 between the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Representative to Azerbaijan has been held.
Chairman of the Committee Tahir Budagov welcomed the participants of the ceremony and emphasized that there is close cooperation between the State Statistical Committee and relevant UN agencies, including UNICEF. It was noted that the Joint Work Plan for the period of 2021-2022 was prepared within the framework of the “Azerbaijan Government - UNICEF Programme of Cooperation 2021-2025”. Implementation of the Work Plan will support the implementation of a Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) to obtain statistical data providing international comparability for the measurement of the social welfare of mothers and children in the country, statistical evaluation of human development and achievement of the goals set by the Sustainable Development Goals (DIM), and will help improve the statistics on child deprivation.
Head of the Office of the United Nations Children's Fund in the Republic of Azerbaijan Edward Carwardin stressed the importance of the Work Plan developed jointly with the State Statistical Committee. He has noted that this cooperation will support the improvement of the statistical assessment of the state of achievement of SDG, data collection to increase the national potential for monitoring and reporting in this area.
Then, the ceremony of signing the “2021-2022 Joint Work Plan between the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and UNICEF” was held. The Work Plan was signed by Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tahir Budagov and Head of the United Nations Children's Fund in Azerbaijan Edward Carwardin.
Discussions on issues of mutual interest were held during the event.
