In January-September 2021 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 182 countries of the world, goods were exported to 112 countries and imported from 169 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country in January-September 2021 made 23164,1 million USD. 14819,6 million USD or 64,0% of trade turnover made the export value, 8344,5 (36,0%) million USD – import value and consequently positive trade balance reached to 6475,1 million USD. In comparison with January-September 2020 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 29,9%, while decreased in real terms by 3,2%, including import – 12,2% while export increased by 3,9%.

In January-September 2021 the export of non-oil gas products, compared to the corresponding period of previous year, increased in actual price by 41,1%, in real terms by 28,7% and made 1809,1 million USD.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 38,6% of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 13,2% - Turkey, 4,2% - Russia, 3,8% - Spain, 3,7% - Croatia, per 3,5% – Israel and Georgia, 3,4% - India, per 2,6% - Portugal and Tunis, 2,3% - UK, 2,2% - Ukraine, per 1,6% - Belarus and Germany, per 1,5% - Switzerland and Canada, 1,1% - Greece and the rest 9,1% - other countries.

The share of goods sent to Russia (32,4%), Turkey (25,2%), Switzerland (9,6%), Georgia (6,7%), USA (3,0%), Ukraine (2,0%), Brazil (1,7%), China (1,5%), Belgium (1,5%), Kazakhstan (1,4%), Turkmenistan (1,2%), UK (1,1%), the Netherlands (1,1%) was prevailed in export value on non-oil gas products.

17,3% of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 15,7% – Turkey, 13,9% - China, 5,8% – Germany, 4,0% - USA, per 3,9% – Italy and Ukraine, 3,3% – Iran, 2,6% - UK, 2,3% – Japan, 1,9% – Korea, 1,7% - France, 1,6% - Brazil, 1,3% – India, 1,1% - Belarus, per 1,0% - Vietnam and Poland, and 17,7% - other countries.

In January-September 2021 compared to the corresponding period of previous year export of main types of products like fresh fruit increased by 34,3%, potato – 12,9%, sugar – 1,7 times, fruit and vegetable juice – 11,9%, fruit and vegetable cans – 17,4%, cotton fiber – 1,6 times, polyethylene – 13,8%, cotton yarn – 2,3 times, semi-finished ferrous metals – 6,0 times, ferrous metal pipes – 7,9%, while export of fresh vegetable decreased by 20,8%, vegetable oils – 14,2%, tobacco – 20,2%, tea – 17,5%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 26,2%, natural grape wine and cellar – 7,7%, unprocessed aluminum – 33,7%, bentonite clay – 2,9%.

In January-September 2021 compared to January-September 2020 import of raw sugar and sugar increased by 3,4%, tea – 5,3%, potato – 19,2%, fresh vegetable – 39,2%, motor cars – 1,7 times, domestic trucks – 1,7 times, rubber tires – 38,7%, furniture – 33,4%, washing machines – 28,5%, busses - 9,3%, domestic refrigerators – 39,3%, while import of wheat decreased by 28,8%, vegetable oils – 7,5%, fresh fruit - 1,1%, butter, other milk fats and pastas – 11,6%, poultry meat and its additional products – 10,1%, beef – 43,2%, cigarettes – 24,9%, medical products – 4,3%, ferrous metal pipes – 26,1%, steel rolling – 38,7%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 0,6%, mineral fertilizers – 59,7%, air conditioners – 0,6%, ferrous metal rods – 70,2%, polyethylene – 29,5%, ferrous metal corners – 26,0%, cement and cement clinker – 15,8%.
