A video conference on the “Results of Pilot Labour Force Survey: Perspectives” was held in the framework of the “Statistics through Eastern Partnership (STEP)” project
On January 17, 2022 a video conference on the “Results of Pilot Labour Force Survey: Perspectives” was held in the framework of the “Statistics through Eastern Partnership (STEP)” project implemented by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) through ZOOM platform. The video conference was attended by 42 international experts, employees of relevant public and non-public organizations.
The purpose of the STEP project was to improve labour force sample statistical survey methodology applied at the national level on the base of international standards arising from “Statistics of work, employment and labour underutilization” Resolution of 19th International Conference of Labour Statisticians – ILO, considering the recommendations of sectoral review on labour force conducted by international experts involved by Eurostat, and to conduct pilot sample statistical survey based on this methodology.
During the conference, the wide information on the methodological basis of the new standards on the types of labour activity, assessment of the labour force and labour underutilization, actions taken forward improvement of labour force questionnaire, its sampling methodology considering the new standards and assistance of international experts involved by Eurostat in the framework of the project, and the results of the pilot survey and future perspectives. The information about completion of the process of improvement of labour force questionnaire, its methodology applied at the national level and envisaging its applying since the current year considering ensure of the relevance and international comparability of the new statistical indicators obtained as a result of implementation of new standards in the country in the framework of the project, was provided and it was highly appreciated by the conference attendees.
