Traffic accidents occurred on the highways in 2021
In 2021, 1649 or 3,9% more traffic accidents occurred compared to 2020, the number of victims of these events increased by 2,5% to 2158 persons. 706 of suffered persons died and 1452 of them were injured. 42,1% of accidents happened in the daytime, 37,4% - at night time, 20,5% - during twilight, 29,2% of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.
89,0% of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents compared with the last year increased by 5,1% and made 553 persons, number of injured persons increased by 3,7% and made 1364 persons.
