According to the State Border Service data, in January-February 2022 Azerbaijan received 150,4 thousand or 2,1 times more foreigners and stateless persons from 138 countries of the world compared to the previous year. 33,1 percent of the arrivals were citizens of the Russian Federation, 24,3 percent – Turkey, 13,1 percent – Iran, 5,8 percent – Georgia, 3,4 percent – Saudi Arabia, 2,6 percent – United Arab Emirates, 2,1 percent – Ukraine, 1,9 percent – Kuwait, 1,2 percent - Great Britain, 1,1 – Kazakhstan, per 0,9 percent – India and Oman, per 0,7 percent – Germany and Pakistan, 0,6 percent – USA, per 0,5 percent – Belarus and Israel, 6,6 percent – other countries. 81,0 percent of the arrivals were men and 19,0 percent were women.                             

In comparison with the same period of the last year, the number of arrivals from Oman increased by 658,0 times, Saudi Arabia – 460,7 times, Kuwait – 200,6 times, United Arab Emirates – 54,2, Bahrain – 36,3 times, Israel – 11,0 times, Pakistan – 9,7 times, India – 9,2 times, USA – 4,3 times, France – 3,5 times, Kazakhstan – 3,1 times, Russian Federation – 2,1 times, Great Britain – 2,0 times, Ukraine – 1,8 times, Iran – 1,8 times, Turkey – 1,8 times, Georgia – 1,2 times.

Compared to January-February 2021, the number of arrivals from Gulf countries increased by 3,1 times and amounted to 33,9 thousand persons, from the CIS countries it increased by 2,0 times and amounted to 56,7 thousand persons, from EU member countries increased by 2,3 times and amounted to 6,5 thousand persons.

43,3 percent of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived to our country used railway and automobile, 54,8 percent – air and 1,9 percent – water transport.

The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling abroad increased by 3,0 times compared with January-February 2021 and amounted to 184,2 thousand persons, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to the Russian Federation increased 4.3 times, Iran – 4,3 times, Turkey – 2,6 times, Georgia – 2,3 times. 40,5 percent of the country citizens traveled to Turkey, 24,9 percent – Russian Federation, 11,7 percent - Iran, 7,8 percent – Georgia and 15,1 percent to other countries. 68,3 percent of the travelers were men and 31,7 percent were women.

In January-February 2022, 35,0 percent of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited foreign countries used railway and automobile, 62,6 percent – air and 2,4 percent – water transport.
